I'm amazed that with all the recent complaints concerning speeding/driving issues that something hasn't been done to calm the traffic, especially in the school zones.

Some of us that are living and working along & around the lower section of Park Blvd have been taking steps to address this speeding issue: lack of 25 MPH signs, OPD deploying speed limit trailer, broken solar speed warning sign, contacting our Council Member's office, contacting the Traffic Engineering Dept, proposing pilot program on the traffic calming, working with the East Bay Bikes Coalition on the bike lanes ...
It is slowly being worked on, but, I think we should invite our city officials, OPD representatives and the concerned citizens, meet and stand along Park Blvd, then, we can all understand how this problem is impacting our quality of life along Park Blvd.

Sorry, I don't understand what it means and would like to ask for some clarification from the PWA.

In order to resolve this issue, it will require:
1) to meet / work with the City Traffic Engineering Dept to address the on-going problem many years.
2) to educate the speeders about the 25 MPH speed limit zone.
3) more 25 MPH speed limit signs along Park Blvd, between Oakland High, all the way down to
E-18th St, right now we only have ONE sign.
4) then, we will need OPD enforcement on the speeders.

So, I would like to ask this issue be reopened. Thank you.

This is not a DPW issue; the other avenues you have been pursuing _are_ correct, but please don't berate DPW for things not in their roundhouse...

I don’t think anyone drives on park 25mpg. Cars crossing double yellow, speeding, pedestrians have run crossing the street. Cops usually ignore speeding cars. Lower park blvd needs more attention from cops to enforce spped limit. Just today in construction zone I think car was going way over 50mpg.

Park Blvd from E 18th up to MacArthur Blvd is on the repaving schedule for 2019, after which it will be re-striped with bike lanes and upgraded crosswalks, with the intent of reducing vehicle speeds and the number of crashes along this corridor.

Desperately need a bike lane and flashing crosswalk lights in the road at multiple points along Park Blvd. Should probably reduce down to 1 lane in each direction to slow traffic, everyone treats the road as a raceway and it is too narrow for 2 lanes in many places.
