Here we go again. The comunity has voted 308 to 5 and you know what the outcome is. The do-gooders and Civic Crusaders are trying to change our nice neighborhood into some thing we do not want. If you lived here for more then a few years, you would know, we are just fine the way it is, thanks. We have a wonderful and safe area. Thank you to all the neighbors for your support.

Not sure at all what you're referring to... Not sure why anyone would be opposed to slowing down the traffic on Augur and maybe deterring people from using it as a cut-through. I have lived in the neighborhood for more than a few years, thank you very much, and my husband was born and raised in Hamden—maybe that, for some reason in your mind, brings us "up to your level." I for one don't find that having cars pass me on Augur when I'm driving at the speed limit constitutes a safe neighborhood.

And you sound like the kind of guy that thinks he should drive 55 at all times on the highway. I also lived here when Augur was a two way street and I think it should be again. There was no parking allowed and I think it should still be that way. No I do not think we need any more stop signs in our neighborhood. The kids are more safe today than ever because of law suits for every thing. (think about the rubber every thing and the fences for all playgrounds now) Teach your kids and watch them. That means take responsibility for being a parent. DO YOUR JOB and your kids will be just fine. No one before you has ever needed more stop signs, why should you need them. Have any kids been injured by cars? Any at all in the last ten years ???? If so where?

I'm all for two-way traffic on Augur, but I think traffic calming is necessary too, as is on-street parking. Can we do it all? They manage to do it with neighborhood streets this narrowl in the mid-West. It makes for chaos, but then everybody ends up avoiding these streets in the end, which is great for traffic reduction.

In the interest of helping the community to its fullest,,, How about we take a different tact and we ask the town of Hamden to do a study about widening the road ( Augur St.) for the good of the community. Then emergency cars and trucks will be able to pass unimpeded to our rescue faster and safer. We all know how unsafe it is to get a fire truck around parked cars on a narrow strees in a hurry. What a great idea!
