The Lake is now in the data base of the Army Corps of Engineers. If Congress appropriates the funds, the Corps will conduct a study of the Lake to determine if and how it can be restored. This was accomplished with the efforts of local and state legislators.
The Federal Government will fund the study at a cost of about $100,000. Thereafter, if the project proceeds, the cost will be shared between Local and Federal governments.
This is the last best chance to restore the Lake.

Regrettably, Congress has not funded the study that would have been performed by the Army Corps of Engineers. It may happen, but not in the near future.
The algae bloom has begun and it will not be long before the lake will be covered with a green slime.
