Does Hartford have any "Dog Waste Cleanup" ordinance signs? I would love to see some put up in South Green. The dog waste on the sidewalks is very common in the area, and folks need a reminder. Would also be good to put signs up near the walking entrances to Colt Park as dog walkers often go there and just let their dogs go without thinking to clean up and dispose of properly.

Sec. 6-12. Removal of dog litter.permanent link to this piece of content

(a) Owner to remove from property.
(1) If any dog shall defecate upon any property or area, then the owner, keeper and person then walking or otherwise in charge of such dog shall immediately remove or cause to be removed from such property or area all feces so deposited by the dog. Unless the feces are removed, the owner, keeper and the person then walking or otherwise in charge of the dog; or if such owner, keeper, or person is a minor, then the parent or guardian; shall each be deemed to have committed a punishable offense.
(2) The phrase property or area referred to in paragraph (1) means any public property or the common areas of any privately owned property or any private property owned or occupied by any person who is not a member of the family of the owner or keeper of or the person then walking or otherwise in charge of the dog.
(b) Exceptions. The provisions of this section shall not apply to a guide dog accompanying any blind person.

If you have specific areas in South Green that needs a sign placed, please let us know. However, since you mentioned Colt Park, I sent request #46384 to Public Works to have signs placed there.

Wethersfield Ave near Morris and Alden Streets. Alden adjacent to apartment buildings near Wethersfield.

corner area of GRANDVIEW TERRACE and HARWICH ST needs a sign really fast..everyone from the neighborhood brings their dogs to poop right there ..it is nasty and unhealthy..please help

Signs need to be placed on Allendale Rd on the south end. A dog owner cursed at my child when she asked the owner to clean up after her dog. It has become very common for owners to have their animal defecate in front of our home.

This is a common problem in Hartford. It seems to have become worse in the past couple of years for some reason hwever. We have the same issue here on South Street & actually the whole area near Goodwin Park. My family & I are frequent walkers & we more often than not have to dodge feces on sidewalks & grassy areas (including lawns & public areas) on a daily basis.

The terrace part of Grandview terrace really needs one. That is between white and linnmore street.
