The Association are a waste of time as far as illegal rentals are concerned. They're only bothered about the aesthetic appearance of Gulf Gate. However, these Airbnb's are becoming a purge of Guklf gate and will only get worse unless the County start enforcing. However, the County it's rare at best for the County to enforce - bear in mind they're picking up taxes TWICE - from the homeowner and Airbnb and also, it's costs money for legal work in enforcement. Good luck. The only way Gulf gate can try and stop this is for the Association to stand up and become active. Don't wait for the County, they're crap.
The County does not allow short-term rentals. People renting this house at the moment are the third group in four weeks. This bunch is LOUD and inconsiderate. The owner should reinforce the idea that this is a residential neighborhood- if s/he is allowed to continue these short-term rentals.
This issue is county wide. GGCA is aware and working with Sarasota County government officials. Everyone can help by taking pictures of the different vehicles that are arriving for their “rental “.

The quick buck never works. At least not for the duration. Pride of Ownership is what Gulf Gate is all about and we need to recapture that feeling of knowing who lives "Next Door".
GGCA stands for Gulf Gate Community Association. Since we don't pay a high amount of HOA dues, I don’t know if they legally are responsible to help. Our original documents would probably say.
