I've had ongoing issues with this as well. In fact, one dog took my toddler son's favorite stuffed animal and proceeded to thrash it around in the fountain. The owner wasn't able to retrieve it from the dog for ten minutes while we watched it run around uncontrolled. I also had a dog owner tell me off for asking her to leash her dog after the dog jumped up on my son and almost knocked him over. All this and not to mention owners who don't clean up after their dogs where babies and toddlers are crawling around. I would almost say a ban on dogs at this park would be appropriate, since dog owners don't appear to be capable of sharing the park responsibly.

I too have noticed the blatant disregard of the leash rules at Edgerton. It appears to me that the law isn't enforced because the perpetrators are primarily white and wealthy.

As opposed to hassling our underfunded city to enforce the law, why not (gently) confront a few of the dog owners?
