I do not understand how and why places are allowed to get to this point. Unfortunately, an overall growing theme within Haltom City and Richland Hills seems to be quite powerful and unchecked...the criminal element creating and controling the environment or community. I have called HC dispatch a few times about the same element that had taken over our apartment and everytime, except for one, the dispatcher's tone made me feel like I was the "bad guy" for calling dispatch! I know they cannot be everywhere at all times, but I know our city leaders can do better than to just let the city be over-run by folks that show/have very little to no respect for others, engage in indecent to flat out criminal activities, and continue to trash HC and any other city they are allowed to run rampant. This place is appalling and the fact that it has gone even one day like that, much worse many days and many other places just the same, it is a true and sad testiment to where HC is headed!

Sure, there is a sign out front of the house so as far as being "addressed" yes but thats been out there every so often since 2008ish they go out to replace the sign. Im the last one that wants immenent domain called but there has to be something done. Pull resources together to empty the pool and fill it in with some byproduct that can be removed or concreted over, Require certain safety mechanisms to be put in place, require they keep electricity and a monitored alarm system and insured. Have absentee owners required to pay a fee monthly to have a city employee actively manage the non-rented properties to keep them in good safe condition.

Unfortunately, far too often than not, government officials are reactive rather than proactive and mitigative. My guess is HC will sit back and ignore this issue until someone IS hurt, or heaven forbid worse. Then they will come in and take care of things claiming all the while that they did not know about the problem. Here is a simple and small message for our government officials...Although you all may THINK the citizens are that stupid, we ARE NOT! If you are getting paid via the tax payers money and are a PUBLIC SERVANT, than you should be preventing these types of situations from happening in the first place and those that you miss, fix and remedy A.S.A.P. as opposed to three years later when something really bad happens due to your inaction.
