Description
Today, 4/26/11 @ 3:50pm, yet another 18 wheeler from Dollar General was driving on Witswyk Avenue.
This time the driver almost collided with my vehicle.
When will Dollar General be forced to comply with the law? When will tax paying homeowners be allowed a chance to live their lives without the wanton disregard for law from corporations? When will the City enforce the law???
This is a habitual problem that has created a quality of life issue.

On Tuesday, 4/24, I contacted Ms. Sherry Ives in transportation at Dollar General Corporation. Her email address is sives@dollargeneral.com
She is waiting for the information you have, whatever else you can send her... Let's see if that won't clean it up.
Will you follow up on this?

Email sent.
You have been CC'd Mr. Berke.
I doubt this will work, as this is not the first time.
What is needed is simple, the City needs to fine and punish the company and give motor vehicle summonses to the drivers that violate the law.
Along with removing the tree that was destroyed and could come down any day.

this is a reporting of facts.
whatever dollar general may have to say is irrelevant, as the facts of the situation speak for themselves.
the picture included shows the time date and location of the incident.
the location is clearly prohibited from any vehicular traffic over 3 tons, done to prohibit dollar general from using the street at the time of the application.
again, a mere reporting of facts.
no conjecture, no opinion, no rambling on about statements about the almighty dollar.
simply, a request that the laws be enforced and that the homeowners and taxpayers have a right and a voice.

john,
the road is posted, "No vehicles over 3 tons, no through traffic"

this is the "official" response from dollar general.
the response was received 4 days after the email, only after mr. berke prodded ms. ives to respond. btw, the response wasn't even written to me, the person that wrote the email, it was to mr. berke. ms. ives can't even respond to a complaint, and this is who is in charge of the matters at hand. impressive.
You didn’t request any feedback/confirmation from me, so no, I didn’t send you anything.
I have sent this to our carriers that deliver in this area and ask them to make sure the drivers were aware they are not to use Wiltswyk Avenue when delivering to our store #07698 in Kingston, NY.
I received replies from them that this information will be noted on the store delivery sheets for the drivers.

With this kind of record and data at hand, I don't see how it can fail.
There had better not be another Dollar General Truck coming down Wyltwik (did I spell that right)... as to the damges... I wonder if small claims court would get their attention. The pictures of the truck, the tree: that's a pretty clear case.

So this issue seems to be resolved. Have there been ongoing occurances? If not let's close the issue.
You can always open a new issue (and post ALL THE photos) if there is a problem.
By the way, I know some higher-ups at Dollar General if this issue is NOT resolved.
