A good clean-up and mowing will probably reduce the recurrence. People throw trash where they see trash. Hopefully Brookhaven Public Works is on it. If you ever see anyone 'sleeping in the woods' there please call the police. It's their job to sort out if the people need help, this is not a 'bad thing', you might save a life.

Brookhaven PW has had a crew scheduled to go through this area weekly picking up trash and it is on our regular mowing and trimming schedule during the growing season. Per information we are receiving from our crew, even with the weekly trash pick-up, people continue to litter in these areas. The City does have an Anti Littering ordinance. If you see anyone throwing trash out on the road, please contact the Brookhaven PD.

Perhaps a couple of tastefully done handcrafted signs with the Brookhaven logo saying " Help keep Brookhaven beautiful Please don`t litter" strategically placed at the traffic lights across from the Texaco and at the light across from the Valero. We have to fight this problem and never give up. The police should be lined up on this problem at shift rollcall. BPW should monitor this area at all times. We all need to take ownership of this problem. It will keep real estate value intact by doing so.It will also create a greater sense of pride in our community!
