It is like that in the east flat, smells like dirt. The same thing every spring. I guess thats why bottled water is worth more than our gas by the litre.

I've noticed that the bubbles from my dish soap disappear really fast now (after I've washed three items). Has something been done to the water lately? It's like that at my mom's place too. ???

The last month or so I've noticed the tap water at my home and at my work both smell and taste like lake water. Yuck.

I really do feel sorry for you people having to put up with the terrible water!! Before we moved to our acreage we found the water terrible too. Now we have a sandpoint and the water is wonderful.

iTs called spring thaw. Any municipal water tastes the same in the spring.

I didn't have this problem in any other city I've lived in, I didn't have it last spring, and the chemical smell has been around for a few months now. My hair is really dry and brittle after living here for 8 months, and I find my bathtub and toilet have to be cleaned much more often than before due to hard water scaling.

Mr Hermit, I will be contacting them on Monday, as that is the one day during the week I have to be able to do so.

20 years in the same house and we have not had this issue for 15 years.When they upgraded the system then,we where told the spring runoff would not be a problem.Well someone does not know there job.Ours is like swamp water.We have been on bottle water for two weeks.

Maybe we should all get sand point wells installed and the city could turn our water off. It would save a pile of money not having a water bill to pay.

yeah i noticed that the water stinks also, and am wondering why someone hasn't started protesting the FLUORIDE POISON they are putting in the water which has been proven to not be any beneficial to tooth decay? ck it out on the internet, fluoride has now been shown as another LIE;

PAsnextmayor. I don' know where you get your bottled water, but at B & P Water shop the price is thirteen and a half cents per litre. Thats a far cry from the price of gas. Their water is tasteless and they are open all day Saturday.

It happens every year, that (similar ) taste to lake water is almost gone, We have the water coolers and a Britta jug and does just fine for this time of year, as for no other places have this problem, we have lots of family and friends in Saskatoon, yorkton, and in Regina they would rather have our water year round. Just something more for the good ol folks of PA to complain over, I will be looking in tomorrow to see what the complaing citizens will be bashing tomorrow, this is better then coffee rows,,,lolololol or video...

Re the dangers of fluoride and the veracity of the internet: there's crackpot theories decrying everything from fluoride to vaccines. If you believe everthing you read on the web, I've got some beach-front property in the west flat to sell you.

And yes, our water is a little stinky.

I live in the deep west, and the water is terrible! How can we justify paying our water bills, when we can't even drink our water! Maybe we should take a sample in to be tested, and see what we are injesting?

It must be an east-side thing because the water in West Flat is just fine. There was a bit of a chlorine smell to it a month or so ago, but that's gone now. And I have a glass of tap water several times a day, so it's not tied to just one time that I can see.

They will send someone to take samples...or at least they SHOULD.

LOL I thought it was just our house because the water hadn't been hooked up for a year...but I went to the field house and had some from the fountain, and it is like lake water! You know what, I lived on a farm south of Saskatoon, and the tap water from that small town was awesome year round....I like Saskatoon water better than PA's.....If I had bath in my apartment this winter, my bathroom smelt like a swimming pool! And now it smells like a fish tank........

It shouldnt matter what part of the city you live in... I wouldnt drink the water for the tap at all! Did you see the river it comes from... ugh, yuck!!

I remember it being like this when I was a kid and we had to go to the spring to get fresh (before bottled water), but I also remember reminiscing about this with a friend of mine last spring and saying, "I'm glad that doesn't happen anymore. Spoke to soon?

I've only lived here for 5 yrs,..the water has always tasted like bleach,..its disgusting!,..period.

I live in Red Wing area, and we have city water. I have to admit that it does smell, and taste like dirt. We have purchase Cullighan water but it would be nice to have better water to drink from the tap. Hopefully it will get better.

This smell/taste used to happen all the time in the spring...hasn't for a few years, but this year it is really bad. As a kid my mom also would take us to a spring to get drinking water till the smell/taste went away.
Now, I NEVER drink our tap water as it literally makes me gag. I always purchase Culligan water.

I am curious how come Saskatoon's tap water is so good? Is it our river? Or is it our water treatment plant? I sure hope the improvements to our water treatment plant improve our taste of the water.

The best places to go for good water is Culligan and B and P. The waterlines must be breaking?

I've always chalked it up to spring run off. Since it does run into the river, and our tap water is taken from the river...

Apparently people around the East Hill area here are complaining about it,too, so, it's not just u. I can smell it,too. We've been using a filtration system and it seems to be working. It's quite inexspensive, however, it does the job alright. You would think with all the taxes we pay and the money we put into our local economy, we would have good drinking water. Go figure.

We have an under-sink reverse osmosis system. I heartily recommend it for anyone who doesn't like the taste/smell of their tap water.

The mayor believed buildinga $20,000,000 soccer centre (to please Malcolm Jenkins) was preferable to improving an aging water treatment plant. Should be interesting to see who Mr. Scarrow blames when, not if, PA experiences a crisis like Walkerton, Ontario. Ask staff at the water treatment plant if they drink the water...

Yup.... bad water but a nice arts center, nice hockey rink, nice indoor soccer pitch.... and bad roads, crime, bad traffic lights....
