Description

Crossing Connecticut Ave NW at M St NW as a pedestrian, the pedestrian signal indicates "Walk" before traffic on Connecticut Ave is stopped (the light turns red approximately 3 seconds after the pedestrian signal turns to "Walk"). This results in near misses for unfamiliar and/or over zealous pedestrians very frequently. This seems to have been happening on and off for several years, as indicated by http://seeclickfix.com/issues/29344-walk-signal-turns-green-before-opposing-vehicular-signal-turns-red

I have also nearly been hit twice because I walked as indicated and drivers continued through. please review this intersection.
