How can we go about adding to the number of available bicycle racks in Philly?
The stock of City-provided bicycle racks has long been exhausted.
Citizens should be aware that they are responsible for supplying and installing their own racks. All requests for authorization to have bike racks installed must be made through the Right of Way Unit. The contact there is Bob Black and his phone number is 215-686-5618.
The City will send inspectors out and the City must approve the locations beforehand to make sure the racks aren't causing any hazard. There will be a legal agreement that property owners must also sign to have these racks installed outside their building.

The City installs car parking everywhere. Our public space is dominated by city-provided car parking. Nearly every street, no matter how tiny, is accessible to cars. Where's the bike love?!?!?!

Racks are not terribly expensive to install.
From a tax revenue perspective, wouldn't it be in the city's best interests?
