JCPA Can't handle people parking in bike lanes..its to much work for them...

Thank you for submitting this issue. The Traffic Division will review the traffic-related issues along Pacific Ave in more detail to determine the most appropriate solutions to address the double parking and loading issues.

Since the street is being dug up to replace the water main, it's a great line to align the bike lane to be on one side (similar to north of Johnson Ave)

Please extend the protected bike lane to protect bikers from traffic and prevent cars from parking in the bike lane

Thank you for submitting this request. We are working on evaluating physical barrier options to add further protection to bike lanes and prevent cars from pulling over and stopping in bike lanes. This section of Pacific Avenue is not suitable for concrete jersey barriers due to the need to maintain access to the curb for garbage pickup. We will be evaluating mountable barrier options in other areas of the City in late Spring. If effective, we could review this bike lane for a similar treatment. In our Bike Master Plan, it is envisioned that bike lanes would continue on Pacific Avenue. It is not currently in the plans to implement for this year, but we will provide an update if this changes.

While jersey barriers aren't feasible, couldn't the bike lane go on the inside (closer to the Curb) and parking on the outside. It's pretty dangerous for potential dooring, not to mention going around the double parked cars.

As part of the MUA repaving of Pacific Avenue in the Fall of 2022, a two-way parking-protected bikeway was installed between Ash St and Communipaw Ave.
