And i saw a post on here by a skateboarder called E, that nobody there does those things and he doesnt want to get law enforcement involved.. Who is he trying to kid??

Having people arrested for tagging isn’t going to fix Burlington’s graffiti issue... that’s some short term satisfaction. Some 18 year old rollerblader is going to be messed up if that happens, sure it was his fault for doing it in the first place- but putting those extreme consequences on someone who is probably 20 years younger than us only makes you feel better. At most a warning and clean up should be the solution. Go find an 18 year old rollerblader if you want, you’ll get the same satisfaction calling yourself hot while looking in the mirror.

^^^i agree. gil always has some curmudgeonly opinions on burlington’s youth. i can confidently say i have never seen that kid before, despite being at the skatepark nearly every day. if you want to prevent crime, how about creating more opportunities for youth to be creative and stimulated in our communities. police create order through intimidation. kids don’t need that, they need compassion and kindness, as well as real role models showing them what is and isn’t ok.

What do YOU suggest? This city obviously doesnt care enough to take care of the problems and miro is another story. The city would probably be in better shape if he wasnt re elected but all he thinks of is his rich friends!

how about more murals on the street? more youth programs that allow kids to be creative? all you talk about is miro this, miro that instead of getting of your computer and actually talking to members of the community about what THEY need

All of that sounds good so why dont YOU get off YOUR computer and talk to community members to see how to do this??

^^He's too busy skating, keyboard warrioring, and tagging and trashing the whole city, and living for free off his parents. What we need is more military schools for bad kids and consequences for bad behavior. Mandatory community service to instill in these kids a sense of civic duty and responsibility to community and neighbors. The hand-holding and praising for nothing and turning our backs on poor behavior is what got us here. The City built these kids a multi-million dollar waterfront skate park.. and all they do is vandalize it and the whole neighborhood around it. Buying them more things isn't the answer.
