Description

Hello, I live at 334 Harvard Street and have noticed over the year I have lived here that the stop sign and flashing red light are insufficient control mechanisms for this intersection. The sight lines are terrible due to the crown of the hill and folks from Dana Street too often creep straight into the intersection and nearly cause accidents. The stop sign on Dana Street is also now obscured by the pine tree and the flashing red is aimed at the house, not the roadway. Quite frankly due to the fact that this is one of the only unsignalized intersections on Harvard Street I think that also causes confusion to everyone and causes some unsafe driving. I would recommend the City do a signal warrant analysis and consider putting in a full red light here and at the Hancock Street intersections. Between the two motorists can really pick up a lot of speed between Ellery Street all the way past Hancock to where the next red light is. I hear horns blaring at people all day long for various infractions and mistakes. Just make them stop at a red light like every other intersection on Harvard Street and slow everyone down.

Thanks for considering this!
