Description
We live on Chestnut Street on a first floor apartment. Recently, the rooftop bar at Doubletree Hilton started their outdoor music. When there is little or no wind, the noise travels across the river and frequently has loud pulsating beats to it. It is literally like having a car outside with speakers on full volume.
I don't begrudge Doubletree their right to offer entertainment, especially after the confinements of Covid. However, this has happened for the last two summers and borders on disturbing the peace. The issue is that the noise comes from the Boston side and is affecting Cambridge residents so resolving this through the authorities is not easy because of jurisdiction issues.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the noise from the Doubletree?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is a Catch 22 situation as Boston authorities will say exactly the same thing - they cannot enforce a noise ordinance that does not affect Boston residents! So, given this unique set of events, could Cambridge city officials think outside the box and work out a creative solution with their Boston counterparts? Even just explaining the situation to them might lead to an amicable resolution so Cambridge taxpayers are not adversely impacted.
I can of course contact Hilton corporate to register a complaint like last year but the hotel has been lax to do anything substantive about this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
