The crews that handle grafitti abatement are the same crews that are primarily responsible for snow removal. This complaint has been logged previously and we will get to it when the crews get caught up.
Yeah. Kinda silly to report, I know. But as soon as I start to tear it off it's still leaving that goop on and can't be read. It's not painted on, You're correct.
Any harsh solution such as "goof off" etc. will potentially remove the retroreflectivity requirements. This has been handed over to staff for review and appropriate action.
Graffiti is along a large portion of the bridge support pillar. Visible from the River Trail. Look at the East side of the East pillar. The pillar is in the water's edge.
Princeton Ave. And Oakland And Princeton Ave. And Daleford Lansing, MI
Noticed two stop signs covered with "gang" stuff on the way to vote. One heading North on Princeton ave on Oakland and on the way back heading south on Daleford. Thanks.
Because most of those properties are privately owned (even if not cared for) the best way to handle it is to contact the Operations and Maintenance division directly at (517) 483-4161 and we'll send the crew out to take care of it. You risk liability if you take it on yourself.
Kinda figured you'd say that. Makes it tough to be more than just a "grumpy complainer" though. The house is gone so I can say it now, but I had to cover up some stuff on the house next to me once. Must be a way that "good Samaritans" can make a dif without fear of reprisals. No good deed goes unpunished it seems.
Not very creative and looks like gang BS. Please paint over with the same color white as the abandoned building its painted on. Its been there for a few months now. Thanks.
Graffiti was removed 10/19/10 at 1:15 p.m. We apologize for the delay. This website is not the most reliable way to report issues. This one was never delivered to our department until the Mayor's office forwarded the second complaint to us. Not sure why. Nonetheless, this site is not monitored continually. Specifically, in the Operations and Maintenance division it is only monitored Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as those are the only hours we have clerical staff in the office. Calling 483-4161 will always get a response because the line is monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week including holidays. You can also send an e-mail to psdomcomplaints@lansingmi.gov (only for issues that pertain to road, sewer, right-of-way, city trees and parks maintenance. This web site is an option, but the least reliable one and we cannot guarantee that it will be received in a timely manner.
Hi Erica, I think the issue people have with sending an email or calling an office is sometimes the impression is that it just "goes off into the ether" and nobody hears anything back about it. Seeclickfix may be unreliable, but at least it creates a sense of trackability and accountability. Perhaps the city staff could enter the complaints they receive via phone/email into Seeclickfix?
I will report this to Public Service. In the future, another handy method to report this is to call 483- GANG (4264), which will connect you to a worker who will document the location and add it to the cleanup list.
