Schuylkill River Trail - Philadelphia To Valley Forge Philadelphia, PA 19127, USASEPTA buses drive straight into traffic eastbound on Ridge Ave against the light. There are traffic lights here specifically to meter traffic and allow buses an opportunity to pull onto Ridge yet bus drivers routinely ignore the lights, stopping both lanes of traffic. Traffic heading east will have a green light yet the bus drivers expect cars to yield to buses out of their own sense of self-preservation. This causes backups during rush hour and is even more of a problem when there is snow or ice on the ground and traffic with the right of way cannot stop for the bus running the red light.
Carson And Cresson St Philadelphia, PAThe detour around green lane which takes traffic down conarroe st, right onto baker and left onto carson is not safe. There are no parking restrictions/monitoring on the carson street portion of this detour and the cars who must take this due to the one way streets can barely, if at all, fit through this street. Please restrict and monitor parking on this street as it does not seem that the construction on green lane is ending anytime soon. Thank you.· Reported by Anonymous · Flag Flagged
Ridge Avenue And Kelly Drive Philadelphia, PA
Welcome Tom Corbett!
Dear PennDOT, Congratulations! You've outdone the City of Philadelphia by way of your contempt for cyclists and pedestrians.
03/01/11 - complainant bikes to work w/o incident
03/01/11 - complainant returns home only to find kelly drive blocked with a sign stating that the path would be closed starting 02/28. The sign suggests the ridge avenue sidewalk as an alternate.
Problem 1: Today is March 1. You failed to provide any notice and proceeded to block our way home.
Problem 2: With the exception of designated bike paths like Kelly Drive, cyclists are forbidden from riding on sidewalks
Problem 3: You've put us directly at the intersection of a work zone, a highway onramp, a road onramp with no consideration whatsoever for our safety, pedestrians and cyclists alike
I just wanted to say "thanks for nothing." Expect me to ride my bike in the middle of traffic as is my right as a "motor vehicle" (cyclist) under state law.· Reported by Concerned Cyclist · Flag Flagged
Ridge Ave And Main St philadelphia, PA
Why does this light even cycle to red? People driving on Ridge Ave don't have any traffic to keep an eye out for, so why is there a red light that lasts 5 seconds?
Sure, pedestrians wanting to cross would like a red light, and thats perfectly fine when they hit the button, but this light cycles red for quite literally 5 seconds then changes to green. Whats the point?· Reported by Felix · Flag Flagged
5201 Ridge Ave Philadelphia, PA 19128During rush hour, there's always a crowd of people trying to cross over Ridge Ave when they get off the train. Everyone ends up jumping out in front of rush hour traffic to get across. It would be nice to have a stop sign or streetlight here before someone gets hit.
Wissahickon Transportation Center Philadelphia, PA
Lights were on flash at the bus station this morning, preventing anyone from safely crossing. The lights facing traffic were yellow so drivers didn't feel they needed to slow down or stop.
I've called 911 about these matters in the past and they refuse to notify traffic about this since the lights being on flash show that they were reset and are pending repair.
My concern here is that when this happens at the bus station, they're left on flash for the entire day. This is an area where the elderly and small children must cross the street. This situation is unacceptable. see video: http://youtu.be/ejGkQ8qKr28· Reported by helper-person · Flag Flagged
Pensdale And Cresson St. Philadelphia, PAWorkers were doing sewer work, took down stop sign at Pensdale and Cresson, but never put it back. Now cars traveling NW on Cresson don't have a stop. Cars in the other 3 directions have a stop and expect NW traffic to stop too. Cars headed away from Main St on Pensdale have to inch out into the intersection because they are coming from under the SEPTA bridge and have a blocked view. An accident is bound to happen.· Reported by Bw096111 · Flag Flagged
4123 Terrace Philadelphia, PAThe stormwater inlet at the curb has collapsed, leaving a dangerous hole on the sidewalk that a pedestrian could fall into. The inlet is located next to the curb cut for the off street parking spot at 4123 Terrace. The problem is that the residents of 4123 frequently drive over the inlet cover to park two cars side by side in a parking pad that is only zoned as a single spot. Sewer inlet covers on the sidewalk are not designed to bear the weight of a vehicle. L&I ought to enforce the use of a single parking spot at this property or the city needs to install a bollard to prevent traffic over this area.
