Our apologies. I will let the plow foreman for your area know. I can assure you, though, that although it might feel as though you are being singled out, you most certainly are not. It is not an ideal situation for any resident. The roads have to be cleared and the snow has to go someplace other than in the street.

Please remember that public safety is our absolute priority and the travel ways have to be cleared. As far as the Post Office is concerned, i know they have their own requirements for clear access to mailboxes.

All we ask if for residents to be patient and understand that we are all in this together and to try to make the best of less than great situation.

Our apologies for the inconvenience. Ultimately, it it the responsibility of every property owner to clear the snow from the sidewalks in front of their property. However, the City does plow some sidewalks as a courtesy for some highly traveled walking routes.

In this case, it appears that the homeowner's plow contractor blocked the sidewalk when plowing the driveway. The contractor should have cleaned up the mess he made as part of the service to the homeowner. The homeowner has the responsibility either contact the plow driver to come and clean up the mess or take care of it himself.

I can forward the issue to our Code Enforcement Officer who can issue a letter to the resident. In addition, it might be more effective to have a neighborly conversation and point out the issue to the offending homeowner.

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a protocol for filing a claim with the City for damage caused by plows, etc. First and foremost, make sure you have photos that are time and date stamped. Next, there is a claim form that must be filled out and it can be obtained through the City Clerk's website (link below).

I am going to close this issue in this forum at this point. Please follow the procedure laid out in the form and the City will work with you to rectify the situation.

I will report the issue to the Fire Department. It is their responsibility to make sure the City's hydrants are accessible after a storm. However, as you can imagine, with this much snow to deal with, they are hard pressed to move through them all quickly.

In any snow situation, the City of Marlborough asks that residents pitch in and help out by shoveling out fire hydrants as well as clear the sidewalks in front of their property. Public safety is our number one priority and we ask that all residents lend a hand whenever possible.

I apologize, but i can assure you it wasn't a blatant attempt to fill you driveway with snow.

You live on a sidewalk plow route and they can't put the snow back in the street. I would suggest that if you are going to shovel immediately after the storm has passed, that you leave the very end of the driveway un-shoveled until the sidewalk machines go by. Otherwise, you'll have to plan on shoveling twice. You're not alone.

I know this doesn't make it any better or make the snow go away, but please understand that we are trying to make the roads and sidewalks passable and safe for the kids walking to school.

Sorry for the mix-up, i saw a Bolton Street address on the report. As far as the driver is concerned, he is doing exactly as he is supposed to be doing. That doesn't make it better and you don't have to like it, but he is plowing the street and he is removing the snow from the public way. For what it's worth, our drivers don't like dumping snow in the driveway of a 72 year old woman either. But, if we raised out plows for every driveway opening, there would be 15 feet of un-plowed street in front of your driveway. I don't think you would want to shovel that in addition to your driveway. Please understand the task at hand and we kindly ask for your patience.

I apologize for the inconvenience. However, the snow has to be removed from the sidewalks and they can't put it back in the roadway. In the future, understanding how it works, you may want to move your car (if possible) out of the way. You may also want to wait until after the sidewalk plows have gone by before you shovel the end of your driveway.

I can assure you that you are not alone and that there is no good solution to the problem. We do the best we can in a difficult situation and ask that all of our residents understand the task at hand.

I will report this issue to Code Enforcement. However, without names or any identifiable information as to the offenders, there is little we can do. I would suggest, however, that you try to keep an eye out and catch the culprit(s) in the act and let them know that they are being inconsiderate neighbors. If that doesn't work, and you can get the owner's names, we can send them a letter reminding them of the City Ordinances they are violating. You can also contact the Police Department if you witness the the physical act occurring and report it. There is a fine if they get caught.

This is not the first time we have been made aware of the issue. Thank you for informing us.

Unfortunately, we don't have the relationship with the plow driver, Bouvier's Pharmacy does. Moving forward, when you see this happen, we ask that you contact the Police Department as it is happening. get the name of the company and the plate if possible and report it. I will see what we can do about reaching out to Bouvier's and have them speak to their contractor.

Snow, and where to put it, is difficult to say the least. However, public safety is our primary concern.
