Updated Vaccine and Mask Guidelines

September 3, 2021

General Mask Policy:

The COVID-19 pandemic situation in Pennsylvania and Butler County continues to be a problem that must be addressed, especially with the variants being dominant and cause significant additional dangers to the public health.

The Borough of Zelienople will continue to do what is needed to keep its employees and the public’s health safe, but also so services can be provided without interruption.

Borough Employees:

Effective 9/3/2021, the following is in effect:

·       The Borough will not mandate all employees to be vaccinated but strongly encourage them to do so.

·       All employees are encouraged to wear a mask while in the building, except when they are in a private workspace and distanced from others.

·       All employees, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask when encountering the public in the borough building, as well as entering a residence or business while conducting borough business to respect the wishes and comfort level of the public.

·       All visitors, guests and general public, no matter their vaccine status, must wear a mask while in the borough building.

Borough Building Access:

Borough Office hours open to the public will continue to be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday; however, staff is available from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm by phone and by appointment to be as accessible to the public as much as possible.

All visitors must still come to either the Borough Main Office or the Borough Police Department office to access borough services. Visitor access is through the back building door adjacent to the building municipal parking lot.

Public Meetings and Individual Staff Meetings with the Public:

All public meetings are open to normal full capacity at this time. This is subject to change as the situation warrants. This mask policy applies to all attending public meetings.

All persons involved in individual staff meetings or other meetings in the borough building are required to abide by this mask policy.

We still ask visitors to sign in as attending and/or wishing to speak at a public meeting.

Meetings will continue to be a combination of in person and virtual access until further notice.

These guidelines above applies to all as noted until further notice.  We will continue to monitor and follow all State and CDC guidelines.

This policy takes effect on September 3, 2021, and will be posted at the building and on all media sites to inform the public.
