Downtown Street Sweeping Tonight 12:00 AM-5:00 AM

The Highway Division of the Public Works Department will be performing a spring street sweeping of the downtown area which includes Central Square, and Main Street (Central Square to Emerald Street) on Friday, April 19, 2024, between the hours of 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

To complete this work in the most efficient manner, to avoid vehicle damage, provide the public and the workers safety, the nighttime hours are best suited for this process. We understand this is an inconvenience and we will make every effort to minimize its impact.

The Highway Division has attempted to perform these duties during the day in the past, but attempts have been complicated by pedestrian and vehicle traffic as well as our concerns for the public, private property, and our workers’ safety. We thank you for your patience and understanding while this work is completed.
