Winter Storm Parking Ban starting Tonight (1/28/22) at 10PM

Mayor Justin Elicker has announced a CITYWIDE PARKING BAN in effect on all streets in New Haven starting at 10PM FRIDAY (1/28/22) which will be in effect until lifted. 

Please stay alert for updates as conditions develop. 


 The ban will include all zones;

ZONE A: DOWNTOWN AREA - all streets bounded by MLK/State/Grove/Howe, both sides

ZONE B: POSTED SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTES CITYWIDE - both sides

ZONE C: ALL RESIDENTIAL AREAS - No parking on the odd side

On a ZONE C residential street: Don't be the ODD car on the block!

On streets where no even side parking is normally allowed please find parking on the even side of a nearby street or an alternate parking location such as a lot or a garage. 
 

The parking ban on all posted snow routes will be enforced with a tag/tow operation starting at 10PM Friday.

Remember, the blue lights in major intersections means the parking ban is active and all vehicles not in compliance can be subject to a parking ticket and tow.

Parking will be available at the Park New Haven Temple Street Garage, Crown Street Garage & Granite Square Garage for $3 each day starting at 5pm Friday (1/28/22). for more information on paid off street parking please visit parknewhaven.com.

Due to the winter storm the Solid Waste Authority and the City of New Haven has suspended all services at the transfer station and residential services on Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Don't forget! During a snow storm, please work to keep your sidewalks clear to their full width. A lot of your neighbors continue to walk and use our sidewalks, and it is important for a Great City to have clear sidewalks during a storm so we all can still get around our neighborhoods and use CT Transit bus stops.
