Keeping Sidewalks Clear!

Don't forget! During a snow storm, please work to keep your sidewalks clear to their full width. A lot of your neighbors continue to walk and use our sidewalks, and it is important for a Great City to have clear sidewalks during a storm so we all can still get around our neighborhoods and use CT Transit bus stops.
Please remember property owners are responsible for clearing a 42” accessible pathway on their sidewalks, as well as at any corner handicap ramps or bus stops adjacent to their property.

From Mayor Elicker's Announcement;

 Hi everyone, this is Mayor Justin Elicker with an update regarding incoming snow. The City is expecting an estimate of 5 to 9 more inches of snow starting tomorrow morning and continuing throughout the day.

Please move your vehicle tonight. A City-wide parking ban begins tomorrow (Thursday) at 8AM and will end Saturday at 8AM. Three main zones for parking will be affected by a parking ban: downtown, where parking will be banned on both sides of the street; snow emergency routes, where parking will be banned on both sides of the street, and residential areas, where parking will be banned only on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses. Do not park on the odd-numbered side of the street—don’t be the odd one out!

Use off-street parking when possible. The City is opening all New Haven Public School lots for you to park in during the storm. Some schools have signs designating where you should park during snow events so please park between these signs. Additionally, Crown Street, Temple Street and Granite Square Parking Garages will be available starting this evening at the discounted rate of $3/day and select Yale University parking lots located throughout the City are also available.

If someone’s vehicle was towed, they can look up where their vehicle is located on the City website after entering their license plate number, or call (203) 946-6316. If you need to report an incident regarding the storm, such as a power outage or fallen tree, call the Emergency Operations Center at (203) 946-8221. Please try to stay home as we work to clear up the City. Be safe out there, New Haven.

Manténganse protegidos, New Haven.
