Requests: noise complaint
95 N Sanford St Pontiac, MI, 48342, USAVehicles traversing the neighborhood are playing speakers too loud and cause an irritating and sometimes painful to the ears vibration. It's in clear violation of the noise ordinances, especially in the dead of night. Many cars play music so loud, windows rattle.
341 Elizabeth Lake Riad Pontiac, MII am more than certain my neighbor has chickens and a rooster in his back yard. I'm am thinking I have seen a goat in the yard also!! I am tired of being woken up every morning hearing this rooster crowing. This animal cries at the crack of dawn and in the evening too! Even my dog is fed up with this noise intrusion.· Reported by Susan · Flag Flagged

Loud, Intrusive Low Frequency Noise causes ear pain, sleep loss; obvious vibrations and amplification in buildings. Can last hours, even in the dead of night (2-5am). Sometimes can be heard around the clock, almost 24/7 recently.
I closed a similar issue in May of 2013 as the noise had subsided. It has returned and been going strong throughout October and now into November. Right now it is intense, waking me up at about 8:20am, loud enough to hurt my eardrums, and was present 5 hours earlier as well.
Others in the area have commented on sore eardrums and headaches as though they have been at a loud concert on and off but are unable to hear the noise directly.
Again, the length and persistence of the noise make it seem like it is from a source other than an idling truck. Traffic noise does not explain it considering it has been absent for long stretches when traffic would be high, or in case of the having to reopen this issue, months. Also it can be heard in the dead hours of Sunday and Monday at 3-5am when traffic is sparse or nil in the area. If area acoustics are amplifying something I am unsure what.
I have not found an effective way to block it. Using white noise does not stop it, music or appliances turning on only masks it audibly; the vibration in the building, felt in the head and the soreness of the eardrums persists.
I'm at a loss here... Was really hoping it was gone for good. No such luck.· Reported by AC · Flag Flagged
771 Second St Pontiac, MichiganThese people have several motorcycles and they are in their yard and street racing and revving the engne all the time. We go to bed to it and get up to it. Some people have small kids and it is hard for them toseep. They are back and forth in the street all afternoon and night. Very loud. I know you are allowed to ride them in the street etc but have some respect for your neighbor. They seem to like to hear the noise. Who do complain to and is there anyone to complain to?· Reported by Anonymous · Flag Flagged

Loud, Intrusive Low Frequency Noise causes ear pain, sleep loss; obvious vibrations and amplification in buildings. Can last hours, even in the dead of night (3-4am) even between Sunday to Monday morning when there is little to no activity outside. Semi/diesel truck idling? Seems a bit long. Factory, other, not sure. Please look into this and find a way to stop it. Was present in the early summer months, went away and is now back again. Happening now: 4:42am Thu Oct 18th for an hour or more. Not sourced in home; outside cause.
Update 1/3/13: Issue not solved but is somewhat less frequent and intense than it was throughout October and other months.
Update 4/16/2013: 3:18 AM and the noise is pulsing away, intense and loud. As reported in January, it stayed less frequent in the winter months if it was heard at all. March showed a return and increase in frequency and loudness. Now April is here and it is getting ridiculous; almost going 24/7 and not diminished by white noise from traffic or anything else. Pillows and earplugs do not work as it goes right through. Others who cannot hear it at such a low frequency have told me they do feel like they've been in a loud concert or club too long; their ears ache for no reason and sleep is disturbed. Someone mentioned the Windsor Hum again that originates supposedly at Zug Island and can effect people 50 miles out. Whether it is or isn't, I truly hope the sound stops once and for all. There is no good time to sleep and even when awake, it hurts. Vibrates right through the home. Takes the term noise pollution to a new level. It's pretty sad that it still effects those who aren't even hearing it like I am. Well, good sleep to all and I hope you're no where near whatever this is.
Update 4/21/2013: See the update above and in comments below. It is just bad this month...
Update 5/21/2013: For the last couple of days and nights, the noise has either quieted or stopped. I will wait and see if it returns anytime soon. If it stays away long enough, I will likely close the issue. Of course, I will also open a new report if it returns after doing so and link this one if I can. I guess we'll see what happens. Here's hoping that it's gone for good and this isn't just a lull...
Update 5/23/2013: The noise was back last night so... I guess this remains open. Tired.· Reported by Anonymous · Flag Flagged
