BLIGHT on the neighborhood Acknowledged

15 Hull St Quincy, MA

The yard of 15 Hull Street is in terrible condition, and has been for a long time. I understand this is a Section 8 property. Who from the city is allowing this house to ruin the entire neighborhood? Is no one checking in with unannounced visits? Often trash sits along the right side of the house, with no lids, and is not brought out on trash day, bringing animals of all kinds to the neighborhood. The front and back yards are filled with junk (is it normal to leave a tandem stroller outside during the winter and NEVER use it?). What is sad is that I understand from others that the interior is even more deplorable, and there are young children living there. I am concerned for their well being. PLEASE help, and help this week. For the sake of the children.

  The Health Department has visited the property previously and as a result of this request and has been in contact with the landlord. In addition, state agencies are involved, investigating other issues related to the property. Awaiting report back from the city's Department of Inspectional Services.

sidewalk in disrepair Acknowledged

Billings Rd Quincy, Massachusetts

I was walking odd side of Billings Rd. around 225-245 I am am 71 year old senior. I tripped on sidewalk that is very uneven from tree roots. I landed flat on my face. My cheek bone has large lump, both knees, legs, arms hands chin all are hurting. Can hardly move or walk. Had sunglasses on, they were scraped by the impact of my face hitting the concrete.I think the glasses saved me from splitting my eye or face opened. The woman in house came running out to help me. I had the wind knocked out of me also. She said she was going to call the city and report this. Not exactly sure of address, will try and check on Sunday, too sore to move right now. Hopefully I have not broken anything. Grateful I did not knock out any teeth. Can something be done. This is very dangerous. Trying to walk to stay healthy, now feel like I have been beat up

The vacant store has a guy living in it Acknowledged

1097 Sea Street Quincy, MA

The bald Van Tassel is liviing in the vacant store next to Manet Lunch. I saw him last Wednesday night at 9:30 pm riding a 3 wheeler ATV on the sidewalk, then turn onto Sea Street and pop wheelies. He then pulled it into the vacant store. The front dropdown gates were up. He and his girlfriend KATIE live in their, sleeping on the floor. They have a ton of candles burning because they don't usually have electricity. Candles within feet of the gas-filled ATV 3-wheeler.

  The city's inspectional services department investigated this issue. At the time of their inspection they did not observe anything that would warrant issuing a violation from their department. If you do see activity occurring on site that could pose a direct and immediate fire hazard, our fire department has the authority to look into the matter and issue fire code violations. I would encourage you to contact 617-376-1011 (QFD) whenever you see this type of activity occurring. A representative from the QFD will respond and can pursue any and all potential violations. TV's, computer monitor, trash, blight on the neighborhood Open

127 Faxon Park Road Quincy, MA

I walk by here every day and see old TV, computer monitor, trash barrels everywhere, construction waste, cigarette butts all over the driveway. Food dumped outside. TV and computer monitor have been there over a year.

four old cars parked rght here at the intersection Acknowledged

They are old cars (some old cars and some old trucks) and they have been parked there all winter. It is an intersection where one direction has a right of way with a stop sign. These cars and trucks make it difficult for people to see oncoming traffic.Danger traffic obstruction and blight to the neighborhood. Please send someone to force owners to move them.

Stop & Shop Cart right in the middle of the intersection Archived

I called Stop & Shop yesterday morning to let them know that their cart is abandoned in the middle of the intersection between Harvard street and Holbrook road. It is still there this morning, and as I was walking my dog at 5 AM, their hired pick-up person drove right past it and never stopped to look for it or pick it up. The Stop & Shop told me previously that their hired company (the pick-up) goes around every morning find these carts. But apparently, he is not doing his job correctly or carefully. Given that the store makes so much money from the people who live in the surrounding neighborhoods, I am shocked at how cheap they are in solving this abandoned cart issue. They need to install locks on these carts, and police their own property better. It's a real blight to the neighborhood. Someone will drive right into this cart and perhaps a law suit will finally wake them up. Please let the company know that this situation is unacceptable.

The house at 74 Quincy St 02169, Has been vacant since Jan 2017. The front yard is so overgrown and the place is a total mess.. It's an Eye soar for everyone else around. If I were thinking of putting my house on the market this place will kill all chances of selling. Who can we get to start looking into this place?
