pedestrians forced into roadway Open

in this poverty area the (weed n seed) the bridge has a sidewalk but its under ice and snow .the owner of the bridge (who could that be?)should be required to clean it off? . the residents and homeowners do a great job of cleaning their sidewalks! 6th st bridge also . the poor pedestrians walk in the frigid cold street with the cars and trucks.its probably just me right?do others see this stuff too?

Reported the problem and all they do is fill some of the holes which is only a temporary fix until the winter snow plows come and we will have holes again. My question is.... Where does the $30,000 in property taxes go each year that all the property owners pay combined that live on this street?

  The city collects approximately 20% of the total property tax amount. That means of the $30,000 you believe is paid by the folks on your street, around $6,000 goes to the city. Out of that $6,000, they provide Police, Fire protection and Public Works services. (Forestry, patching, storm sewer maintenance, snow plowing) etc., and whatever you don't see too.
  
  In contrast, the school district sees about 53% of the taxes collected, whether you have kids in school or not.

vacant home Open

Home has been vacant and unkept for a few months. Driveway nor sidewalks have been shoveled or plowed. Afraid with crime rate the house will draw attention of burglars. This issue needs to be resolved. Before it snowed the yard was not mowed and weeds out of control.

  Have you considered taking your snowblower and clearing the drive and sidewalks? Otherwise, the only real answer is to have someone move in to the home and maintain it.

Massive Potholes Open

1500-1598 Reed Ave Rockford, IL 61109, USA

Between 11th and 10th Streets on Reed Ave., you can practice pothole dodging in preparation for the 2011 winter olypmics. In the 17 years I have lived near it - I've seen them "fix" it correctly once. The rest of the time they just cold patch it all. At least with the snow and ice - it help cushion your car a little better.
