It has been my understanding that we are all neighbors and clear away the fire hydrants in front of our houses. That section between the sidewalk and curb is under our responsibility.
Technically, ANYTHING between the sidewalk and the curb is " city property". I would know. The city made me take down Christmas lights because they were in the trees between the sidewalk and curb. I was told its city property. Since its city property, DPW needs to get out there and clear the snow off them! That's what our taxes pay for!
