1060-1090 County Road 31 Saugerties, New York
As an out-of-towner who drives along this stretch of Kings Highway fairly frequently, I am very confused as to what the proper speed limit of this road actually is.
There are many yellow 45 MPH Recommended Speed Limit signs, which leads me to believe that the real speed limit would logically have to be above that, at 50 MPH or 55 MPH.
But there are no signs for this anywhere along this road. What is the speed limit listed as recorded in the actual Ulster County and New York State record books?
Yes, as one drives southbound towards Mount Marion, there is a clearly-marked "40 MPH Ahead" sign, which alerts people to slow down for the crossing with Glenerie Blvd. But between Saugerties and Mount Marion, there is absolutely no indication on what the real speed limit is.
It makes traveling along this road very frustrating because many motorists drive much too slowly and back up traffic unnecessarily.
And to make matters even more frustrating, there aren't any passing lanes anywhere on this stretch of road. It is a very straight, open road with good visibility. It would seem to me like very simple things which could help alleviate some of the many needless traffic tie-ups that occur along this road.· Reported by Citizen · Flag Flagged
Greenkill Ave & Sterlin St & Iwo Jima Ulster County, NY
Why are trains using their horns on stretches were there are no roads crossing the tracks.
The horns are blasting in the middle of the night for many times and for 10 seconds each blast. Trains are getting longer and sleep at night will become an issue for many people in town.
Can we make this an Kingston issue for all the railroad crossings?
Can some one post any rules or post a link to any rules about the horn use on trains.
Thank you.· Reported by John · Flag Flagged

The new flashing red and yellow traffic lights at the Interstate 87 offramp at NY Route 32 are causing worse traffic congestion and backups than before! This intersection should either have regular red, yellow, and green traffic lights installed, or it should be redesigned as a roundabout. Drivers become filled with road rage and honk and shout obcenities because this intersection is so chaotic!
PLEASE FIX THIS TERRIBLE PROBLEM!!!
Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge Kingston, NY 12401, USA
There has been a rash of jumpers on this bridge in the past few years, and one occurred just yesterday.
The Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge was recently renovated a few years ago.
Why were no fences installed along the edges of the bridge to prevent people from jumping off to commit suicide?
I can't believe nobody thought to have fences installed here!
It's the same thing with the new Highland River Walkway over the Hudson! No fences were installed here either! I am shocked at the lack of forethought on this matter!· Reported by anonymous · Flag Flagged
65 Vanburen St. Kingston, NYThere are loaded bags of trash(?) on side of house + other debris & also numerous TV's and other trash in yard along the fence and by the garage. Potential fire hazard. CleanUP is necessary NOW !
487-517 Ulster Landing Rd Kingston, NY
The entire stretch of Ulster Landing Road needs a major cleanup of all the overgrowth encroaching into the street.
Maintenance along the whole of Ulster Landing Road has been SEVERELY neglected during the past few years, especially around Hudson View Circle and Riverview Terrace.
There are tree limbs about to fall onto passing cars. This is very dangerous, and hopefully it won't take someone getting killed to have this simple issue fixed. I don't think the Town/County needs to have a lawsuit when someone gets hurt of killed.· Reported by anonymous · Flag Flagged
3300 New York 213 New Paltz, New YorkComing off of Rte 213 to make a left onto Rte 32 is really difficult. I think a traffic light should be put there to regulate this. Rather than drivers determining when it's safe to get onto Rte 32, when drivers on Rte 32 are doing 55 mph (or more)... just not a safe situation. A traffic light is sorely needed.
Abeel Street kingston, New YorkWe came back to the marina this year to find the neighborhood between the waterfront and W Union street decimated. The mature trees (all) were razed on the private property, and between the marina parking lot and the footpath on the hill - the vibrant flowering bushes on the hillside were completely removed and the very large, majestic 150+ year old sycamores had several of its lower, sweeping limbs removed. It is apparent this was work performed by an unskilled person. Not performed by an arborist or licensed tree service. Was this approved? Is this legal? I would think there would be landscaping requirements for such properties in the historic district. This is damage to the waterfront that cannot be repaired in any of our lifetimes and can't be replaced by hostas.
Intersection Of Routes 32 And 213 Rosendale, NY, USAThe intersection of Rt 213 and Rt 32 is very dangerous. We desperately need a traffic light there before a terrible accident occurs. Drivers turning south on to 32 from 213 cannot see cars approaching from the north on 32 because the bridge obstructs their view. Route 32 is 55 mph there so drivers don't have much time to pull out.· Reported by Kate · Flag Flagged
9 Alcazar Avenue Kingston, New YorkWhoever owns this house has no less than 20 very large piles of dog feces right in the front yard. When I walk my child to school, we cross the street but the smell is intense. Isn't there a law that requires homeowners to pick up dog feces in their own yard? It seems like a health hazard. Any suggestions?
