I-87 S Town of Saugerties, NY, 12477, USAWhen driving southbound headed towards the Saugerties Exit (Exit 20) of the NYS Thruway, there is a steep grade combined with a sharp right curve. This causes motorists to slow down, thus impeding traffic flow behind them. Many slow drivers and tractor-trailer trucks also illegally remain in the left lane, causing other drivers to weave between lanes and pass on the right. This is a DANGEROUS situation which needs to be addressed and corrected! A KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS sign should be placed here and on every bridge overpass pylon, in order to remind drivers NOT to block the passing lane!
3069-3069 Us-9w Town of Saugerties, NY, 12477, USAThe green LEFT-TURN arrow should be FIRST in the timing cycle of these traffic lights. When driving southbound on Route 9W, drivers wanting to make the lefthand turn at the fork onto Route 32 should be allowed to make their left turn FIRST. What is currently happening is that traffic on 9W northbound accelerates lethargically, and southbound drivers try to beat the light and make the lefthand turn, directly into oncoming traffic. The traffic light needs to be reset so that the green LEFT-TURN arrow comes first. That would avoid this driver confusion and road rage when drivers cut in front of each other.
1244 Kings Highway Saugerties, New York55 MPH signs are needed along Old Kings Highway. It has been approximately 12 years since they were there, and it is EXTREMELY dangerous when drivers drive too slowly because they do not know that the proper Speed Limit along this stretch is 55 MPH!
519 Ulster Landing Road Kingston, New YorkThe STOP AHEAD sign and the 40 MPH signs are covered by trees. This section of County Route 37 (Ulster Landing Road) needs to have the tree limbs cut. Drivers cannot see the speed limit or that there is a STOP ahead. This is VERY dangerous, especially on such a poorly-lit rural highway. There are many residences on this street, and the vision is severely obscured by hanging tree limbs.· Reported by concerned · Flag Flagged
1200 Ulster Ave Kingston, NYCrossing 9w near Marshalls and Barnes and Noble without a crosswalk is dangerous. It is clear that most people don't give a second thought to this pedestrian unfriendly area. The town of Ulster has asked the state to help but they have not fixed the problem. If one crosses route 9w at the only feasible place (traffic light at Marshalls/Barnes and Noble) it leads into parking lots on both sides leaving a pedestrian in the roadway. A simple crosswalk with pedestrian operatated signal would solve the problem.· Reported by Pedestrian Beware · Flag Flagged

There is no reason why this intersection should be No Turn On Red during the evening/nighttime hours.
All it does is make motorists wait when there are no other cars to wait for.
Electronic "No Turn On Red" signs are used with great success around the Albany/Capital District Area, and the rest of NY State should begin adopting them at all intersections where sometimes right-turns cause a safety hazard.
Waiting at this light is wasting my gas, and the gas of all the other people who have to sit here at night waiting for this stupid light to turn green in order to travel onto Route 9W. You say you want people to get better gas mileage? Then stop making them sit at traffic lights when nobody else is there!
Please install an electronic, automated "No Turn On Red" sign that turns OFF at night, so we can fix this annoyance. Thank you.· Reported by anonymous · Flag Flagged
