Requests: bike concern
7 Calf Pasture Beach Rd Norwalk, CT 06855, USAcalk pasture is the main road to access the public beach in Norwalk, however there is about 100 yards of sidewalk that is so narrow you have to walk single file. People and bikes are often forced off the sidewalk and out into the roadway. There also happens to be a blind turn which makes it even more dangerous.
I suggest removing the asphalt center median at this location which is roughly 3 feet wide and widening the sidewalk or making a short bike lane to protect the pedestrians, joggers and cyclists that frequently use the road/sidewalk. It is a precarious situation that is an accident waiting to happen.· Reported by paul zullo · Flag Flagged
Catoonah StVERY dangerous for any bicycle rider. one of the 'pot holes' is a sewer grate that is depresed 4-6 inches below the road surface. Please get these fixed. Perhaps the firemen already pointed this out since it is right in front of their building?· Reported by ken fitzpatrick · Flag Flagged
278 Silver Spring Rd Ridgefield, CT 06877, USAWhile the road paving in this spot is a problem, it is only surpassed by the speeding of cars and trucks on this narrow and scenic road. As mentioned on St Johns, this road is popular by bikers, walkers, joggers, etc, and with its blind and narrow turns its incredible that there haven't already been accidents. It gets pretty scary...and an ongoing game of chicken.· Reported by Anonymous · Flag Flagged
109 Housatonic Ave.Open Discrimination against those utilizing motorcycles for pleasure riding into scenic areas of our beatiful state, specifically Memorial weekend in Kent, Ct.
A great many of our bikers do more for our local economy and residents by way of contributions of time, effort and support for issues close to our hearts, often giving funds from thier own pockets as well as holding drives & rallies to secure even larger amounts to help many causes that most of those stuffy Kent residents do nothing for! Where's the Love? It's a crying shame that our residents can feel good about their snub nosed intolerance as was exibited in Kent, and expect all of us to tolerate people like them. How can you single out a sector of our population to berate them because of their choice to ride or different presentation? These people deserve respect as equally as you unless violating thhe rules.· Reported by Leigh Cipriano · Flag Flagged
Governor John Davis Lodge Turnpike Fairfield, CTi am taking a guess at the map location, as i've only seen it from the metro north into NYC, there is a tent city located very near a highway entrance in fairfield, just before the tennis courts of a school (fairfield prep?). i wouldn't make a big fuss if they were peacefully coexisting, but the last time saw them, i noticed a huge pile of bikes. as a cyclist, who has had bikes stolen in the past, this is a huge red flag to me.
1312 King St CT 06831Just a nasty deep pothole that caused a flat tire on y bike. Also rough road in the area.· Reported by Randall Wolf · Flag Flagged
170 Mill St CT 06830
This is the main route of the CT-NYC bicycle route, and used by many riders.
However, this particular intersection is not ideal. Turning vehicles do not always yield and speeds can be high.
Something should be done to slow traffic or provide dedicated facilities for those who commute or ride through the area on a regular basis. Targeted enforcement may also help (drivers don't seem to yield to peds, either).
