Prominence Point Parkway Canton, Georgia
TREES BLOCKING VIEW OF TRAFFIC
Some months ago this issue was on this site. I can't find it to add to it.
The matter has been brought up with the City by my direct contact and you can see the exchange posted at: https://hollymill30114.blogspot.com
The issue is that where Gray Rd, aka The Ash Street Connector ends at Prominence Point Parkway (next to the Dollar Store), those wanting to turn left from Gray Rd to go left on the Parkway have their view of oncoming traffic obscured by 3 Crape Myrtle trees planted on the Parkway divider.
If you use this route you have probably noticed the lack of visibility up towards the Publix shopping center.
I don't think the City Manager understands the problem and it would be helpful if users of this stretch of roadway were to comment here or even on the email addresses supplied on the referenced blog site.
Someone took the time out a couple of months ago to raise the issue, I'm doing it now (again). These trees are not going to stop growing, let's get this situation taken in hand NOW and get the trees either removed or relocated and low growth shrubs put in their place.
Let's not wait until someone gets killed making the turn.
287-297 Sandy Springs Cir Sandy Springs, GA 30328, USAThe new Configuration for the southbound lane of Sandy Springs Circle as it crosses Johnson ferry Road. It is a right turn only. There was a temporary right turn only sign present when the striping was changed. If it is to remain a right turn only then there needs to be a sign on the mast arm indicating this. There was almost two wrecks here this morning in the brief 10 minutes I was in the area. Note in the photo the straight arrow was painted over black creating the new configuration and the southern side of the intersection cannot accommodate two lanes of traffic going straight.
4401 Shallowford Rd Roswell, GA 30075, USATraffic on Shallowford headed east in the morning is always backed up at the Johnson Ferry light. Sometimes it is backed up all the away to Lassiter, about a mile. Then to make the situation worse the next two lights are out of sync and hold up traffic even further. Please fix the light timing to allow more traffic through in the morning.
There is a similar situation coming west on Shallowford in the afternoon. This is a very difficult light to get through.
Mt. Vernon And Dunwoody Club Dunwoody/DeKalb, GeorgiaThe traffic light at Dunwoody Club and Mt Vernon and Saffron needs to have the timing adjusted. The light for eastbound traffic on Dunwoody Club is too short for the volume of traffic. Sometimes that light is green for Dunwoody Club literally only 1-2 seconds, only enough time for one car to go through. There often is a long line of cars waiting at that light and it can take multiple cycles before a car can get through, meanwhile Mt. Vernon has a green light with no cars going by. Please adjust the timing so that Dunwoody Club has green a bit longer and Mt. Vernon a bit shorter. Thank you
5050 Chamblee Dunwoody Road Dunwoody, GeorgiaThere is an enormous pothole in the bike lane and partly in the traffic lane. I am guessing you know about this already, but if not, wow, this is dangerous! (Pictured under my right hand below)
5426-5498 Brooke Farm Dr Dunwoody, GA 30338, USA
Traffic Signal is at Mt. Vernon/Dunwoody Club/Brooke Farm Dr is poorly timed and causing major, inefficient traffic delays. Here are the problems:
1. Left turn lane (Mt. Vernon/Dunwoody Club Dr. east bound is way too short and should be timed with the straight lane east bound together. Instead, the straight light goes green first and the turn signal goes green at the end of the cycle and does not let all of the cars in line through.
2. Mt Vernon south bound left turn light (to Brooke Brooke Farm Drive south and Duwnoody Club east) should turn green at the beginning of the green light. If cars are turning left there, everyone behind them has to wait until the end of the cycle and then let 5 cars through.
3. Light turns green at Brooke Farm Drive even if car is not there
The city said they addressed this issue months ago, but nothing has been done.
