Requests: road safety
57 Ralston Ave Hamden, CT, 06517, USAThe dead tree at curb was supposed to come down 3 years ago. It was posted. I've made several calls going back before that and since. It's not getting better! It's a small tree, would not take much time at all! The constant falling branches are a safety issue for the elderly and/or disabled who travel that block constantly from Davenport/Dunbar - Canes, walkers, scooters. Can this please get taken care of once and for all?!?
773 Pine Rock Ave Hamden, CT, 06514, USANow that school is reopened it is necessary to once again request speed limit enforcement on
Pine Rock Avenue. There are several bus stops on Pine Rock Ave & Elementary School students are walking to
Helen Street School . The increased traffic from SCSU and commercial truck traffic it is making this a dangerous situation.
The posted speed limit is 25 MPH and most vehicles are traveling close to double that.
Several accidents happen each year but nothing is done to improve the safety conditions on this road.
There is a very sharp curve that is particularly dangerous at the corner of Blacy St. where several close calls have happened
between vehicles traveling North and pedestrians.
Mr. Mayor, Please do not tell me to write another letter to someone else.
Action needs to be taken, be it speed bumps, stop signs, Police enforcement, additional signage, or even making Pine Rock Ave a one way
Street before someone gets hurt.
289 Pine Rock Ave Hamden, CT, 06514, USAOriginal request #3822030 - Why is the parking lot by the playground and field on pine rock completely dark? There are always several cars sitting there in the dark with running lights on. There are no street lights right there either - Isn't that a safety concern?

201-341 Benham St Hamden, CT, 06514, USAHi I am a concerned citizen who drives diwn Vantage St to Benham St and I always get a car coming sharply around the corner thinking no car is there waiting to turn . There will be an accident waiting to happen. Too many cars are going into the other lane when turning. So I propose a one way only sign from the top of Harrison and vantage where there is a wrap around bend. Going down. That way no car can come around and hit someone else’s car, It will probably be a nuisance for some people but safety is first. Please help with this situation, and let me know what you think.
Westerfield Rd Hamden, CT, 06514, USAI have been requesting a speed bump for westerfield rd for several years, I was referred to the traffic commissioner, and I wrote a letter to him, which has gone unanswered. We do have children on this street and it it not safe. So now what else do we need to do to make it a safer street.

3 Frederick St Hamden, CT, 06517, USAThe roadway in front of #3 is badly broken up as is the bituminous driveway apron. The area is sinking and causing ponding in the winter. Can the area be repaved to solve this safety hazard.
Thanks! Thanked!976-1036 Whitney Ave Hamden, CT, 06517, USASidewalk on southbound side of Whitney (from Armory to Blake) is full of giant holes, and the curb is non existent. There is no shoulder or any other barrier to the roadway, so 45 + mph cars pass within inches of pedestrians and bicyclists on the dilapidated sidewalk. There are multiple schools in close proximity to this area, and so this is an issue for child safety biking and walking to/from school.
Quinnipiac University 275 Mount Carmel Ave, Hamden, CT, 06518, USAOK; here we go again!
As seen in the other part of town with SCSU; QU also has speeding driver issues all over this end of Hamden.
Blah, blah, blah...we complain; nothing gets done!
70 Killdeer Road Hamden, ConnecticutHi,
My neighbor's sump pump is draining directly onto the street, and the water is pooling up outside my house. Since the water is stagnant, there is sludge and slime build-up. There is a bad odor, and a mosquito problem in the summer.
It is also a safety issue, as people walking their dogs at night have slipped in the slime, and in winter it freezes over.
I have spoke to my neighbor several times, but he has not done anything for the past 10 years.
It has become a much bigger problem in the past 4 years since he cut down all his trees in his yard.
I would greatly appreciate some help from you in resolving this issue. I have sent 4 emails this year, but did not get a reply. Many thanks.
