31 Armory St Hamden, CT, 06517, USABecause of the recent heavy rain and continuous heavy traffic along the eastern end of Armory St., a fairly deep pothole has opened up and needs to be repaired along the edge of the temporary patch over the RWA repair site of the major water main break last month.
773 Pine Rock Ave Hamden, CT, 06514, USAThe excessive speeding issue continues on Pine Rock Avenue, especially between Helen street and Gilbert. I have brought this issue to the attention of the Mayor's Office but nothing is ever done to address or resolve this public safety problem. This is a residential neighborhood that is being impacted by commercial traffic traveling at double the posted speed limit.
It is going to take yet another serious accident for the Hamden Police Dept. to start enforcing the traffic laws! Please do something Mr. Mayor.
2103 Shepard Ave Hamden, ConnecticutThe curbing alongside our driveway and in front of our driveway has been damaged by traffic avoiding downed trees after the tornado. This has cased flash flooding down out driveway and along our garage in the aftermath. I am concerned about further erosion if the situation is not addressed and the curbing replaced.
Alice Peck School 35 Hillfield Rd, Hamden, CT, 06518, USAThe intersection of Shepard and Hillfield at Alice Peck school has a 2 way stop at the T-section. Drivers coming down Shepard towards Whitney Ave do not stop and can turn left onto Hillfield, where the cars from up Shepard must stop at the sign and yield to drivers turning left. This creates confusion for the drivers at the stop sign who assume the drivers on the opposite side have a stop. There needs to be a clear sign posted to alert drivers at the stop sign that oncoming traffic does not stop. Thank you.
Thanks! Thanked!6 Glendale St Hamden, CT 06517, USAThe crosswalk signal pole on the north side of Glendale and Putnam is lying on the ground and pressing the button on that side of the street no longer causes the traffic light to change.
253 Augur St Hamden, CT, 06517, USAAugur Street needs some traffic calming signs-Re: speed limits and or reminders to Slow Down
Several streets in Southern Hamden have had these traffic calmer signs installed and Augur street is like a raceway!
Please do something before someone gets injured or killed. The one stop sign at Augur and Baraclough is useless-hardly anyone stops
773 Pine Rock Ave Hamden, CT, 06514, USANow that school is reopened it is necessary to once again request speed limit enforcement on
Pine Rock Avenue. There are several bus stops on Pine Rock Ave & Elementary School students are walking to
Helen Street School . The increased traffic from SCSU and commercial truck traffic it is making this a dangerous situation.
The posted speed limit is 25 MPH and most vehicles are traveling close to double that.
Several accidents happen each year but nothing is done to improve the safety conditions on this road.
There is a very sharp curve that is particularly dangerous at the corner of Blacy St. where several close calls have happened
between vehicles traveling North and pedestrians.
Mr. Mayor, Please do not tell me to write another letter to someone else.
Action needs to be taken, be it speed bumps, stop signs, Police enforcement, additional signage, or even making Pine Rock Ave a one way
Street before someone gets hurt.
2336-2346 Dixwell Ave Hamden, CT, 06514, USAWhen leaving the Bank of America parking lot via the southern one-way exit lane into the larger plaza, there is a signpost with conflicting signs. The one-way sign is correct. The no right turn sign is wrong -- it should be a no left turn sign. This was very confusing and I almost went the wrong way if not for the painted arrows on the pavement. Apologies if this is submitted under the wrong category; there was no traffic signs option.
1670 Whitney Ave Hamden, CT, 06517, USAImproper operation of traffic signal at corner of Whitney and Hawthorne avenues
Sometimes this traffic light stays green on Hawthorne for far too long and even when no car approaches on it and nobody presses the pedestrian signal. This isn't traffic calming; it just causes wasting of fuel and could make some drivers run the red light. The behavior is erratic; sometimes the signal operates properly. I'll try to post a photo of the traffic backup.
