At the intersection of Hitchinpost and Conestoga there is a pothole that should be patched. It is not deep, but it is growing in both width and depth...the poor pavement is hard to avoid when making the turn.

Pine Hill Road from the Hunt Road bridge to where it intersects Galloway has many potholes and spots where the pavement is scaling significantly...the bad road surface is hard to avoid in several spots. This stretch of Pine Hill is pretty well traveled stretch of road and is in need of some TLC by a road crew.

The small, triangular plot of land that previously housed a Mobil station is quickly becoming an eyesore in an otherwise well cared for center of town. I assume if this were town property it would look better than it does...which leads me to believe it is privately owned. Does the town have any sway with the property owner? Can the town reach out to him/her in an attempt to have the lot cleaned up a little...at the very least to have the grass cut...I can't imagine anyone in town would object to that plot of land being neatened up.

The storm drain at the corner of Hitchinpost and Whippletree is completely covered by leaves/pine needles/dirt. A large puddle forms at this corner when it rains. Though the puddle does dissipate in time, the drain needs to be cleared.

I just wanted to post a positive note here about the recent paving on the Hunt Road 495 overpass. Many potholes were patched late last week...it looks like more than was previously done to maintain the roadway (it really needed it). My thanks to the town making it happen. Now if the town can help the State to keep the lane in good repair until they switch over to the "new roadway"...that presumably will be MUCH better (one would hope) than the old lane .
  • Hunt Road Chelmsford, Massachusetts - Chelmsford
The entire single lane Hunt Rd passage over 495 needs attention and the winter is doing the already poor roadway no favors. The past week has seen the development of a rather good sized pothole on the 110 side of the bridge that really needs attention. Given the volume of traffic that passes over this bridge daily, the Town really ought to spend some money to augment the rather meager patching done by the contractor of this job who seem to be nowhere in sight these winter months so does not appear to be monitoring the condition of the roadway nor appears to be making roadway patches/repairs "within the scope of the project" as I was informed by the project manager himself this past Summer they are supposed to be doing.

  • Hunt/Pine Hill 495 Overpass Project Chelmsford, Massachusetts - Chelmsford

    Hi,

I travel over the Hunt Road 495 Overpass several times a day...as I'm sure do many people...and am sensitive to the poor condition of the roadway going over the bridge itself. The single lane roadway is doing double duty (both directions) and there are numerous potholes and imperfections that make travel uncomfortable. It is not a matter of wanting to go faster over the bridge...rather, a matter of desiring a more comfortable passage (several in a given day) over the single lane while the construction is underway. Is there any way the town could repair the roadway/make the roadway on that single lane better?

  • 24 Donna Road Chelmsford, Massachusetts - Chelmsford

    Good Morning,

I know this winter has been punishing on our town roads and as we come out of winter into spring, frost heaves etc will settle down...and I know you will be out and about patching potholes etc...as part of the general maintenance of our roadways.

I want to bring to your attention the shape of Donna Road pavement as it existed prior to this winter. I've lived at 24 Donna Road for well over 20 years and do recall the road was paved probably that long ago...and patched here and there along the way. As it stood last fall (only exacerbated over the winter), there are numerous potholes, scaling of pavement, loose pavement chips, bumps etc...so much so that we often choose to come onto our road via Sandra Drive as opposed to traveling the length of Donna Road....I'd say about 2/3 of the road is in poor shape and could use a fresh skim coat (at least) of pavement. To repair the road properly, grinding and re-paving is in order. Whatever the solution, I believe it has to be more than just a few shovel fulls of patch material.

I know that there are paving plans in town that I saw last summer(?) on the town web site, but I don't recall seeing Donna Road on that list. I'm hoping that you will send some folks to inspect the road and perhaps add Donna Road to your list of roads needing paving in the near term.

I have only praise for our town services and rarely (never?) call/e-mail with a complaint. I hope to hear back from someone in your office soon. I'm happy to talk about this issue or to drum up neighborhood support to back up my claims if that is your recommendation.

    My Best,
