Someone illegally dumped a TV on the side of the road. The perpetrators clearly know the area isn't adequately patrolled, as more and more of these large garbage items are beginning to appear here. Please notify the police.

Damage from flooding subsidence has made the entire width of the trail very rough in the area near and directly over the corrugated plastic culvert that lies under the trail. The underlying substrate has been partially washed away in some spots. The condition will only worsen as the overlying asphalt continues to sag into the voids carved out by the floodwaters. Please do not neglect this!

The weekend storm left tons of mud & sand in the tunnel under Lake Wheeler Road on the Walnut Creek Trail.
  • Walnut Creek Trail Raleigh, North Carolina - Southwest
The weekend storm left several tons of mud & sand in the tunnel under S. Saunders Street and the section of trail just west of the tunnel on the Walnut Creek Trail. I did my part to rescue the wildlife trapped in the dwindling tunnel puddle and put it back in the creek.

The weekend storm left tons of sand drifts on the walnut creek trail. You'll need to send a bobcat/skid steer with a bucket, as the drifts are more than ankle deep.

The storm left somewhere between 80-120 tons of mud and sand in the tunnel under Hammond Road on the Walnut Creek Trail. You'll need a bobcat/skid steer with a nice big bucket to clean this all up. I've never seen it so bad in the 2.5 years I've been using this route.

Moron 1 left a large CRT TV on the side of the road. Moron 2 smashed said TV to get the copper coil in the back, then left it in the road. It's been there for more than a week.

Some fool dumped a mattress and box spring on the south side of Water Works St. in between Penmarc Dr. and the Walnut Creek Trail entrance.

The Walnut Creek Trail flooded under S. State Street over Memorial Day weekend, and it still hasn't been cleaned out. Please attend to this, as many cyclists use this route for recreation and commuting. My bike is beginning to look like I used it in a Mud Mania event, and I've only been riding the greenway!
  • Walnut Creek Trail Raleigh, North Carolina - Southwest
The Walnut Creek Greenway under S. Saunders Street flooded over Memorial Day weekend and left mud and leaf debris. It's still there and not going anywhere, so it's time to clean it out!
  • Walnut Creek Trail Raleigh, North Carolina - Blount Corridor
The Hammond Road Tunnel on the Walnut Creek Trail flooded over Memorial Day weekend and left tons of mud. It's still there. Usually it's cleaned up right away by Trail Maintenance Staff, but after over a week, nothing has been done. It's time to clean it out!

Someone tore down the trail sign and threw it into the ditch.

Some punks thought it would be a good idea to break two or three bottles on the trail and leave them there. There are now hundreds of tiny slivers of glass everywhere. I commute on this route 5 days a week, and do not like the idea of picking broken bits of glass out of my tires. The big pieces are easy to get off the trail, but it's the little ones that I can't see that will end up embedding themselves in the rubber of my wheel and cause a puncture. If you wouldn't mind doing a courtesy sweep of the affected area using one of your sweeping trucks, it would be very much appreciated!

The dirt bikers predictably use the Walnut Creek Trail as their shortcut yet again. Perhaps the security camera on the Ralph Campbell Community Center could be of use in identifying these perpetrators.

More destruction caused by illegal motor vehicle activity. The three dirt bikers are back after a two week hiatus. They are all black males in their 20s or 30s. The one on the blue bike rides point, while the other two on green dirt bikes always trail behind. The one who brings up the rear has a large '3' between the handlebars and another '3' on the right side of the bike on the carriage between the wheels.

Someone tried to steal the stop sign on the Walnut Creek Trail, either for keepsake or scrap.

There are at least two individuals illegally dirt biking on the Walnut Creek Trail in between the S State St. and Lunar Drive entrances. They use the trail sometime in between 4-6 pm on weekdays and sometime on the weekends. They are destroying the turf next to the trail and leaving ruts wherever they please. I suspect they visit a drug dealer close to the Ralph Campbell Community Center, since their destination is close by and they never stay for more than a minute or two before returning to the trail to retrace their path.
