The traffic lights at this intersection give pedestrians a go-ahead walk signal to cross Hampshire St. while bikes traveling south on Hampshire (towards Kendall) have a green signal. That conflict is obviously unsafe. I've had several close calls as a pedestrian.

Compost was not picked up. This is the second week in a row that the city has missed one item in our solid waste pickup; last week it was yard waste. We have a Friday pickup so the waste waits for the whole weekend. I know the contractor is "new" but this shouldn't be happening.

This property has been under construction for weeks, first demolition now a complete revamp. It has created problems for the neighbors, the neighborhood, and riders on the 47 bus that goes down Pearl St. A summary:
1. Big demolition container and big trucks take up more than their share of the street, delaying the bus.
2. Trucks and vehicles of workers idle for long periods, polluting the air. Several other projects in the area add to the pollution.
3. Demolition materials blow out of the container into neighboring properties.
4. Constant noise.
ISD could have at least required the builder to clear parking spots across the street from the container and the trucks so that the bus can go through. Do it now.
ISD could have required the builder to cover the demolition debris. Do it now.
The city could enforce its idling ordinance. How about that? Apparently citizens have to enforce the noise ordinance, which requires equipment that most people don't have.
It's frustrating to see so many little construction projects, none of them for affordable housing, and so little planning to reduce impacts.

The trash barrel was not picked up. It has styrofoam and some bagged packing peanuts in it, which is trash, not recycling. Another trash barrel beside this one was picked up.

The compost was not picked up today.

Still no composting bins in Cambridgeport. When will this neighborhood get them?
