How much longer will the steel plate remain? Has this pavement repair site been forgotten?
  • 4855 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd Atlanta, GA, 30338, USA - Dunwoody

When will steel cover plate be removed? It has been there for weeks.

BTW - Some locales recess these cover plates so they are even with the pavement surface instead of sticking up, minimizing disruption and damage to vehicles traveling over them. This also prevents the plate from getting knocked out of position, exposing the excavation and increasing the chance of severe vehicle damage and possible injury to occupants.

When traveling SB on Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd. and turning right to continue on Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd., there is a DEEP pothole between the curbs at the point of the triangle-shaped median at the exit of the turn. Large trailer trucks and school buses seem to be affected, as the turn is a bit tight for such long vehicles, with, I expect, potential tire damage.

Reshaping this convergence by shortening the triangle and widening the pavement at this point should resolve the matter. It could be said that enabling a wider turn for long vehicles could cause greater proximity to NB vehicles in the left turn lane turning left to stay on Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd., except that these turns are already taken wider anyway. Correcting the problem will eliminate the safety issue of tire damage to the affected vehicles.

Manhole is raised above new pavement northbound side of Cambridge Dr. near Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd. All others on street are either level or close to level, but this one is objectionably high. Proper completion of the newly repaved street is in order.

If just one driver wants to turn left onto Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd. southbound, they might or might not be able to do so, but it is certain that the long line of cars behind them will be unable to proceed. A left turn lane and signal will alleviate these problems.

Potholes, crumbling pavement, and uneven repairs on virtually and perhaps literally every street in Dunwoody. This is the last report I'll be making, as I do not have the time to report every pavement problem, and it is the job of the taxpayer-funded City of Dunwoody to maintain its roads, a job that is paid for, but not fulfilled. The concept of actively maintaining the roads, suggested by me, appears to have been ignored or rejected.
