    As of May 31, 2023, the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) has not been mowed this year northwest of Shawmont Avenue (and Nixon Street) to the Montgomery County border. The Manayunk Canal Path has been mowed (earlier this year and recently).

    Also, vegetation has grown out over the SRT, narrowing the trail and causing a hazard to all trail users.

    This situation has happened before when a new city mowing contractor was hired and does not mow all the way to the Montgomery County line.

    As of 01/21/2023, on the Manayunk Canal Path/Schuylkill River Trail, there is a large hole in the foot bridge, just downstream from the steps up to the Station at Manayunk Apartments.
    This was reported to Philly 911 in June 2022 and assigned #15012187. Another comment was added to that issue on 01/21/2023 stating that the issue had not been addressed.

    As of 11/19/2022, there is a dangerous hole at the beginning of the first wooden bridge downstream from lock #68 on the Manayunk Canal Path. The other bridge nearby (just downstream, towards Manayunk) also has a hole needing repair. In addition, the path has poor drainage in this area, and is often wet and muddy for weeks after a rainstorm.

    Irish Meetinghouse Road (SR 4025) has potholes and rough pavement at # 1 (near intersection with Elephant Road, 137, 150, 436 and other addresses. The situation is endangering motorists, bicyclists, and even pedestrians.

    This was reported, along with a picture, to PennDOT on Mon. June 21, 2021 via their online “Customer Care Center” website. https://customercare.penndot.gov/

    The concern was acknowledged by PennDOT with an automated email response which assigned concern number 20210621-C47HY4 dated 06/21/2021.

    On 06/22/2021, PennDOT sent an email stating that the concern had been addressed. The concern was “Sent to area foreman for repairs.”. On the PennDOT Customer Care Center website, the concern had been “Closed”.

    According to the PennDOT website, “Late winter and early spring are the peak times for potholes to develop, and PennDOT crews continue to work aggressively to repair potholes in the region,” said PennDOT District Executive Kenneth M.
