Tree Issues Archived15-17 General Greene Ave Natick, MA, 01760, USA - NatickBrush is growing across sidewalk. Please trim.
-
Tree Issues Archived251 Bacon Street Natick, Massachusetts - NatickBranches are hanging over the sidewalk only about 4 feet off the ground creating a hazard for walkers and runners as we lose light in the morning. That is a dangerous place to have to step into the road as drivers do not pay attention while they drink coffee, read the paper, shave, or smoke their morning joint (yeah, I can smell it). Also, the bushes along the sidewalk at 255 are overgrowing the sidewalk and should be trimmed back. 157 Bacon also has a bush that is taking half the sidewalk. I have already contacted Fisk Church about having their landscapers clean up outside the guardrail.

Tree Issues Archived99 North Main Street Natick, Massachusetts - NatickTree limbs are hanging at face level when wet. Also underbrush is beginning to grow over the sidewalk.
-
Tree Issues Archived100 North Main Street Natick, Massachusetts - NatickThere is a branch about 4" in diameter hanging vertically over the center of the sidewalk that appears to be held up only by friction. A gust of wind could shake it loose onto a pedestrian.

Snow Plowing Archived1 Lake Street Natick, Massachusetts - NatickAfter the sidewalks on N Main had been plowed, Public Works plowed the street onto the island at Lake leaving a pile in the sidewalk, making this intersection almost impassible.

Snow Plowing Archived54 General Greene Avenue Natick, Massachusetts - NatickThe sidewalk on Gen Greene has not been plowed, which is the way the town treats this sidewalk. This causes 2 problems for pedestrians. On my way to work I have to walk in the narrowed lanes with 2 lanes of oncoming traffic who do not yield to pedestrians or local traffic. (Sandcrabs blocking the eastbound lane is another issue.) On the way home, We are forced to walk with our backs to traffic IN THE DARK. I wear a reflective vest, but that does not make drivers any less stupid. On my way home tonight I was passed by a pickup that turned into Lakeview Gardens and stopped because there was a vehicle coming out (yes, there is plenty of room for 2 vehicles). I had to walk behind the truck into the middle of the road. Thankfully the guy coming out actually stopped, looked, and waited for me--which is very unusual for this town. Crosswalks are ignored by almost every driver. It is a public street, so please plow the sidewalk.

Crosswalk Safety Archived1 North Main Street Natick, Massachusetts - NatickThe town has put up signs in crosswalks saying the fine is $200 for failure to yield, but there is no enforcement and many drivers do not stop even when pedestrians are in the crosswalks. This morning I was crossing N Main at North with southbound traffic stopped and a van from the Middlesex County Courts Community Service program (license M518) was traveling northbound at a rate of speed the RMV would not classify as reasonable and proper. He did slam on his brakes to let me cross, but as soon as I was clear he stomped on the gas and sped off while 2 women were crossing the southbound side about to enter the northbound side. At the same intersection last week, a van from JECORP stopped and let me cross N Main, but he drove in front of me while crossing North. If he has a dent in the side I will neither confirm nor deny that I swung the book I was carrying. The crosswalks are clearly marked, there are signs warning of penalties, and there are people crossing at each one trying to get to the commuter rail station; but there is no enforcement and therefore no credible threat by these signs. Writing a couple of tickets once in a while might make drivers think twice (or maybe even once) about how to treat pedestrians in a crosswalk.

Dead Turkey Archived106-108 North Main Street Natick, Massachusetts - NatickThere is a dead turkey lying between the sidewalk and the "rail trail" just where the trees begin. Having left chicken in the fridge too long I know how bad rotting poultry can smell.

Storm Water Drainage/Flooding Archived5 Kansas Street Natick, Massachusetts - NatickClogged storm drain--probably just leaves. One good swipe with a rake should take care of it.

Another Roadkill Beaver Archived12-40 General Greene Avenue Natick, Massachusetts - NatickThird beaver in a month to be killed on Gen Greene. Would someone mind picking these things up? The first was liquefied by traffic, the second one is gone but the issue is still open, and this one is still pretty fresh.
