Parking Enforcement Issue Archived136 N Winooski Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
vehicle we reported encroached last night returned this afternoon and parked again encroached. This time I was creeping carefully into the driveway and he stood and watched without a thought of how difficult it was because of his blockage..
I told him of the city parking law/ordinance and that he is violating it and causing a very dangerous situation for the tenants here and in the bike/recreation lane on north Winooski ave as it blinds us, and that was one reason for the code. he called me and a**hole. after 5 so nothing we could do.
a little parking paint to make this 52 ft section into 2 parking places ( city's own measurement is 20ft per space) and maybe it'll help them follow the rule of law.request #101

Trash or Illegal Dumping ArchivedBurlington Beltline Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electricpolitical signs down on the beltline were put there illegally by potential lawmakers..isn't that an issue to be made public/..signs by the intersection are legal. Stopping on the beltline is not because it is DANGEROUS!..yet there is standing proof of that violation . please remove these eye sores and illegal billboards and educate these politicians.

Greenbelt/Treebelt ArchivedBurlington Beltline Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electricpolitical signs being placed on the Burlington Belt-line travel section, including abating the emergency turn-around the BPD parks in to watch traffic.
i find it ironic that these Law-makers -to-be are employing illegal means to advertise their candidacy, as ,there is NO stopping on this travel road, so unless these are thrown out the windows and stuck magically into the ground, someone is stopping and leaving an un occupied, running vehicle in this dangerous route, to stick a billboard in our eyesight. ..they need to be taken down and the candidates admonished for not even investigating the legality of their campaigning program. thank you. -
North Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electricthis what a motorcycle looked like 100 years ago. basically a bike with an engine strapped to it, pedals and all.
Riding it legally on city streets would require licence endorsement, registration and inspection, helmet and eye protection and one must obey every traffic law, stay off sidewalks and bike paths.
yet, electric bicycles and scooters/mopeds of today would out perform this antique in every category except coolness....and those other forms of transportation are running rampant all over the city with impunity. this discriminates the motorcyclists.
..please educate and enforce. -
N Winooski Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
this is a whizzer. they have been made since the 50's. Basically a 2 stroke oil/gas mix engine propelling a bike. One of these just flew by our place on North Winooski ave at about 40mph!..no plates, no helmet or eye protection, moments later, he returned down the wrong way of the one way street!
why are these motor driven cycles allowed to use the streets with total disregard to all traffic laws and safety of others?
they are using bike lanes as well as the Burlington bike path.education and enforcement please. signage as well

Burlington Beltline Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electricsmall scooters and bicycles ( with "Wizzers attached) have been using the beltline . If a scooter is more than 49cc, and/or capable of speeds over 35mph ( beltline is rated at 50) than operators MUST have helmets and eye protection, and a REGISTERED and INSPECTED vehicle. NONE of these is being enforced or folks educated. about it.this is a major safety issue I see at 5pm most everyday, a small scooter with a person only wearing a bandanna , and a 3 year old laying across the front of the scooter..wearing a bike helmet..entering the beltline!....

Friday night they had beer pong party outside in the parking lot, right next to all the other apartments. The house has an upstairs apartment and a down stairs apt. however, the landlord rents the entire house to one group of kids. does this violate the code for un-related people living together? who do i go to about the kids drinking all day, so far 3 nights too? ( they do NOT look 21!!!)
land lord does not return my calls and the property manager is un reachable. they are not practicing any covid precautions and are standing and partying 3 feet from my tenets bedroom window..we need help or guidance. -
Spear St South Burlington, VT, 05403, USA - South BurlingtonThe Vermont law is quite clear about billboards being placed as advertisements on city property adjoining the highways and streets. The string of vegetable and farm stand signs advertising the sale of goods violates them. regardless of the good or bad of the business, it is still a violation and they must be removed as they are an unsafe distraction, the main purpose for the law other than the blight they impose on the regional views.
