We live on the corner of Auburndale Avenue, Washburn Avenue, and Newell Road. This is a frequent commuter road for very large trucks who completely disregard the residential speed limit of 25. Most motorists can be found speeding by at 40+ and never stopping for pedestrians.

However, there is an increasing number of small children (ages 0-12) who have moved into the neighborhood and use the crosswalks at Auburndale to cross to Rowe street AFTER school hours when the crossing guard has left (and during the summer) daily. There are also residents walking dogs at all hours.

PLEASE consider installing a raised crosswalk, a pedestrian walk signal, and more visible speed signs.

This neighborhood is within a few blocks of the Burr elementary school it is imperative that the safety of children is ranked as high as motorist convenience.
