A large pothole is encountered when making a right turn into Reckord Road from US Rt. 1 (Bel Air Road). This is next to a utility pole and requires a wide turn to avoid. This spot is next to the sawmill's log holding area.

There are two potholes near the bridge over Winters Run at Whittaker Mill. There is one is on the Mill side very near the bridge. The other one is on the Ring Factory Road side about 300 feet up the hill from the Run. These have been developing for years and need attention.

Unpaved section from Plumtree Run to Sommerville Rd has become nearly impassable due to lack of routine scraping and heavy rains. Ruts. potholes, side erosion, protruding rocks and uneveness are old problems from the past that exist once more and require prompt attention.

Since Tollgate was closed eight months ago the SOMMERVILLE-PLUMTREE traffic has greatly increased but its upkeep has been decreased. Today it ooks like a Pothole Graveyard. It has narrowed due to side washouts. Traction is poor and sliding sideways is a real threat. HELP

Unpaved section is badly washed out with many holes and some up to six inches deep in places. Side ditch washouts have made the roadway its most narrow in years. Projecting boulder segments and fallen tree residue increase potential sideswipe damage to all cars.

A large area of Plumtree Road is sinking to the point where a car going at the posted speed is caused to suddenly lurch to the right toward the curb and storm drain.

Northbound traffic on Tollgate must exit onto MD24 at Plumtree roundabout due to closure of Tollgate Road. Signal timing is very short and wasn't adjusted when construction began. Since additional months of Tollgate Road work remain, the timing correction would minimize the frequent traffic delays when turning and crossing MD24.

At the Whitaker Mill bridge the heavy wood planks nailed down onto the bridge deck a few years ago have begun to show a noticeable amount of deterioration. There appear to be some nail heads exposed due to wood loss around knots and tire punctures may occur.

On the East side of MD24 the Marketplace Drive left turn lane has failing paving at its interface with MD24. When making the left turn toward the UCMC hospital area a driver encounters a rough and sunken street that fills with water after a rain. Previously reported and responded to, with inadequate repairs, and again deteriorating as before. The other two lanes of Marketplace Drive at this location are OK.

Frequently only 3-4 vehicles are able to cross MD24 (from the Bob Evans side toward the Festival side) before the signal turns to yellow. Other cars lined up and waiting may not cross until a third light change, especially at the busiest times of a typical day.

Pothole has developed over the last 2-3 months and has become dangerous and destructive for vehicles turning left (South). Full of rainwater this morning and depth uncertain.

Road is sinking quite a bit just beyond entrance to medical complex at 104 Plumtree Road. It has caused quite an unexpected dip in the street and is becoming a driving hazard.

SAME COMPLAINT AS BEFORE ON 3318290. Another motorist has collided with the badly designed curbing/drain at SE exit to MD24. Female motorist needed help from MD State police this morning when she smashed into the abrupt angle of the drain lid. The contractor cemented the lid and poured concrete to complete the sidewalk recently without any physical changes, as were done to the curvature leading west into Plumtree.Road. Please fix before more citizens are endangered and their vehicles damaged.

SINCE THE ROUNDABOUT WAS OPENED THE POORLY FITTED STORM DRAIN LID AND CURBING HAS SNAGGED THE RIGHT FRONT WHEELS OF NUMEROUS TURNING VEHICLES CAUSING SEVERE RIM AND TIRE DAMAGE.

Previously fixed in Dec 2016 and has deteriorated more severely ever since. Right turn toward Fesival is increasingly difficult and dangerous. SRA had done previous repairs and none seem to last. More cooperation between County and State might result in a longer-lasting repair for Spring 2017.
