  • Whalley Ave & Ella T Grasso Blvd New Haven, Connecticut, 06511 - Edgewood
Another horrific accident just occured at Whalley and Ella Grasso. It was so bad that our building shook. The amount of accidents that happen at this deadly intersection is unreal, it is on average once a week. Some have been deadly, people have been killed. Twice in the last few years drivers have run the red light, crashed through a stone wall, through an iron fence, and into the PARKED CARS in our parking lot- which is about 30 feet from our condo! A few weeks ago, the traffic light was knocked out because of an accident, and during the two weeks it took to fix, there were MORE accidents! We need raised crosswalks at this intersection, better law enforcement (a lot of accidents caused by idiots trying to beat the red light) and get rid of the little island on Ella Grasso that divides the road- people can't see it at night! Lets get together and DO something about this!

AGAIN. Loud, Booming Fireworks so loud they are shaking my building coming from across the street. These are not the city fireworks. This has been going on for weeks, and will continue long after the 4th is over.

Nobody should have to live with bombs going off every night for months.Clearly, the city's approach is not working.

    * I am not sure of the exact location* There is a GIANT, almost street wide, pothole on between the Grove St . Cemetery and the Yale Gymnasium (?). It goes across both lanes of traffic and is deep.

Every day, on my way home. I witness multiple bicyclists breaking the traffic laws and nearly causing accidents. I almost hit someone yesterday when they ran a red light right in front of my car. It is a good thing I was driving slow and paying attention.

I assume that this is mostly ignorance on the part of the bicyclists, so I was wondering if there was a possibility of an outreach program to educate cyclists?

  • Whalley Ave And Ella Grasso Blvd New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood

ANOTHER car accident at the intersection of Whalley Ave and Ella Grasso BLVD. I have lived here for over 10 years and there is an average of 1 car accident a week and I see at least 1 -2 near misses a day.

The complaints on SEECLICKFIX, as well as multiple complaints to the city are NUMEROUS and go back YEARS.

How much longer until someone gets killed here, and the city gets sued for millions of taxpayer dollars?

If this gets closed before the intersection is fixed and turn signals are installed I'm just going to keep re-opening it.
