The light at the intersection cannot handle the traffic going west during rush hour and it backs up traffic significantly. Please adjust the light to allow traffic to move freely. Spending 80+ million dollars to build a freeway intersection only to have it not move traffic is a waste, when the lights cannot handle the amount of traffic. That intersection was not created properly and should’ve had more lanes of travel east and west.

During rush-hour traffic at least until 845 traffic turning left to northbound I 15 from Bangerter backs up, up to half a mile long which is quite unacceptable to anyone’s standards driving on Utah highways.

It appears the traffic light does not stay green long enough even through a two cycle green-light per one intersection cycle.

I do not presently use that intersection to turn left during rush hour but that is because I do not want to wait 5 to 10 minutes to make a left-hand turn

11:30 in the morning on a Saturday when it is not rush-hour traffic going eastbound passed mountain view corridor is backed up At times Traffic is backed up 1/4 of a mile while there is very little traffic on mountain view corridor north and south

I noticed traffic having to wait 5 to 6 timing cycles to make a left-hand turn from 13400 S. going west bound to mountain view corridor South. This is miss leading because the traffic first has to get through a light on 4800 W. and cannot do so because there are too few lanes, and too much traffic. The last couple days I have seen traffic backed up all the way to 40th West . That puts the time to get through a left-hand turn on mountain view corridor about 15 minutes. And that also equals over 1 mile of back up to make that left-hand turn. Again this is ridiculous and something needs to change. I do understand that Riverton city and herriman city are involved but no one is willing to do anything about it. Maybe you can. I sent a message to the Riverton mayor and have heard no response. Also it is easy to stripe in an extra lane across 13400 S. both east and westbound.

Greenlight is again too short. I believe it was fixed a while ago. However only 1/2 of the traffic is getting through on non-rush-hour times. Today I noticed the problem at 2:30 PM

After waiting five minutes, I took this picture of how far back I still am to reach the intersection at 13400 S. going west past Bangerter. I was still backed up two more light cycles. At the same time I notice traffic on Bangerter north and southbound is almost nonexistent after the first 20 or 30 seconds the light is green. Then it stays green another 20 or 30 seconds. This is ridiculous. Please fix it. I’ve already commented on this several times and there’s no excuse to not change the timing signal by even 10 seconds.

I previously reported that during mid-day the left-hand turn northbound going west is too short I also have found out that same problem on the weekends.

Left-hand turn northbound heading west at bangerter and 13400 S. during the middle of the day the light turns red too short for no reason at all leaving 20 to 30 cars waiting to make a left-hand turn during run non-rush-hour.

I have noticed during the day the turn light is too short. During rush hour it is much better. I do not understand why it has to be so much shorter in the afternoon and not allow all the traffic in the turn lane to get through within one time in cycle.

Mountain view corridor continues to have a preference in lighting despite the significant decrease in traffic flow compared to 13400 S. going east and westbound. Because 13400 S. only has two lanes each direction, often during evening rush hour traffic backs up over a 1 mile. This is unacceptable of course, there is enough room to paint another ilane without doing major construction. Your help would be much appreciated, thank you, David Douglas

The light signal at 4500 W. and 13400 S. is no longer timed correctly, as well as it is shorter than it previously was heading east and westbound, causing more traffic delays

The intersection at mountain view corridor and 13400 S. heading westbound is a complete nightmare during rush hour between 5 and 7 PM traffic will back up over 1 mile due to poor planning on Herriman decision not to allow more lanes to get through what is now a busy intersection especially north and southbound on 13400 S. Just because Herriman had poor planning does not mean the state should not get involved in fixing this process. Please address this. There is enough room to add a third lane going east and westbound across mountain view corridor on 13400 S. I know there are excuses, but that does not help fix the problem if it is not addressed. I will celebrate the day this gets fixed. Also thousands of other drivers will also. There is only two lanes going east and westbound between 12600 S. and 150th south or further. In Las Vegas every mile there is a major intersection with lane’s three in each direction to move traffic. I hope the standard will someday apply here. Almost nightly, traffic is backed up on 13400 South and Bangerter highway. Yesterday it was at least three light cycles to get through the light going westbound. Meanwhile for 15 seconds there were no cars traveling north and south along Bangerter. This negates the whole purpose of the multi million dollar interchange done several years ago, in that traffic is still backed up east and west as well as the left-hand turn northbound heading westbound. Intersection of mountain view corridor and 13400 S. traffic traveling east west backed up almost a half a mile due to a timing change where the lights going north south on mountain view corridor where are extended extremely long causing significant back ups east west.

I noticed today the timing of the light was about half as long as it typically is. Did a lightning storm change the timing? Traffic backs up significantly due to this time and change.

There needs to be 3 lanes painted N/S each direction, or much longer green light going W bound. I have had to wait 3-4 cycles to get through that light. That is ridiculous considering there has never been a time where Bangerter N/S flow has had to wait 1 cycle. There are no other reasonable routes to get to South Herriman going W. as 13400 S is backed up. It takes 2-3 cycles to turn from Bangerter to 13400 S going W. Also, this area was built recently and little consideration was made to making roads and intersections wide. (See Las Vegas model). Major roads are 3 lanes each direction no more than 1 mile apart. 12600 S 11400 S 10600 S 9000S 7200 S are 2 lane roads. There are no freeways b/t 5400 S and 13800 S going E/W. Redwood needs to become a 5 lane freeway as I-15 is a joke. Thanks David

I almost always see the cars have to wait 2 lights to get through the L hand turn. in the AM for no reason. ( likely timed at 15+ seconds) Yet, there is much less traffic turning L than at 5 PM when traffic is heavy and the green light is set at close to 50+ seconds. If you set that light about 10 seconds longer it should fix the problem. The Bangerter traffic is light enough to justify it. Thanks

The second of 2 turn lights is too short. Many times 10 cars get stuck at the light. This light can stay green at least 10 seconds longer without disrupting the timing cycle. (this is because the N/S Bangerter light is green at least 20 seconds longer than the turn light.) This brings me to another question. Why is the N/S Bangerter light green so long when there is never a backup of flow in that direction, while West bound traffic on 13400 S during peak times has to wait 2-3 cycles to get through the intersection? I understand the Bangerter N/S lights coordinate with 12600S etc, but this is not justifiable considering the timing ratio. Thanks
