We Can Do Better

There are newly painted lines on Elm street (and Washington street) to indicate a crosswalk. Since I've been here in Stoneham (5 yrs) there are no signs posted indicating a crosswalk there. Never has been. I've seen students cross there also lots of people through out the day talking a walk. Drivers speed on Elm all the time, sometimes they will stop but most times not. Why not a few signs posted??? I don't get it.
