  • Passyunk & Bainbridge Philadelphia, PA - Queen Village

The Stop sign (with a Do Not Enter sign on its back) has been cut down and is sitting in the median of Bainbridge at Passyunk.

I figured someone would take care of this, as it seems like kind of a big deal, but it's been this way for at least a week.

  • Reed St & Franklin St SW Corner, Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square

The brick wall behind 730 Reed St, just down Franklin St on the West side of the street -- a constant victim of graffiti tags -- was tagged again around November 9, 2011.

They're not even nice-looking tags. Looks like some little punks are just practicing.

  • S 10th St Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
On the sidewalk West of Capitolo playground, along S 10th St, there are several piles of trash bags that have broken open and other discarded trash. This is city-owned and maintained property, so you can bet that no residents will be picking it up anytime soon.
  • 716-722 Reed St Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA - Passyunk Square
Storm drain cover on the corner of Reed and S Franklin St is constantly out of place, overturned, and generally hazardous. WRB has been out at least 3 times and has still not implemented a proper fix.
  • 1524 South St Philadelphia, PA - City Center West

I have reported this previously ( http://seeclickfix.com/issues/108919 ), but the Royal has fallen further into disrepair over the past few months. The building is not open to the public, but there are now significant cracks on the outside walls of the building.

  • 750 S 11th St Philadelphia, PA - Wharton-Hawthorne-Bella Vista

Since Bella Vista Distributor does such a booming business, I understand that they may sometimes need as many as 3 tractor trailers to use the bike lane as a loading zone / unloading zone / parking lot.

However, while these trucks block traffic and turn a street that could be a 6-lane highway into a one-lane accident-waiting-to-happen, there is no reason for them to leave their engines running.

  • Belmont Ave Between Wynnefield And N Georges Hill Philadelphia, PA - Wynnefield
The sidewalk on the West side of Belmont is blocked by downed branches from a recent storm.
  • 8th And Wharton Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square

This car appears to have been abandoned for over a year. It appears undriveable, and was recently towed from 815 Wharton to the NW corner of 8th and Wharton for PGW work on Wharton street.

    Details:

    Green Chevy Dart station wagon
    Pennsylvania plate # FTX-4705
Poor condition, rusted, filled with garbage.
    Flat tire(s)
Does not appear to be driveable

  • 724 Reed St Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
Graffiti tags have been painted on the new stainless steel garage door at the Southwest corner of Reed and S Franklin. They've been there for a few months. Originally filed here with wrong address: http://seeclickfix.com/issues/111121 Re Neighborhood Services Ticket #1748276

Hoodlums are at it again, and this time with more than graffiti -- they have knocked a vertical fence post out of its mooring and broken the horizontal slats connected to it. I don't know how they managed to knock over the 6x6 beam -- there must have been some kind of power tool involved.

  • 9th And Federal Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square

I hurried past a bunch of stinking, fly-infested trash bags on Monday, July 4th (trash day this week is Friday, July 8) at the Southeast corner of 9th and Federal, just outside Lalupe Mexican restaurant.

Dunno if these belong to the restaurant or a resident, but I hope they don't sit around for the whole week.

  • South St 1700 block, Philadelphia, PA - Schuylkill Southwest
I biked down South St at around 9:30PM last night and all the lights on the 1700 block were off. I dunno if this is a PECO issue or otherwise, but I thought it was pretty weird.

Universal Companies purchased the abandoned building at a cut rate from the city in 2000, and the property and adjacent lots remain in severe disrepair a full decade later. Universal Companies promised to restore the building, yet has not even kept in controlled ruin. Full-grown trees sprout from the roof, graffiti covers the facade, and I shudder to imagine the interior. The city should condemn the property and sell it at auction.
  • Sinkhole Archived
    1100 1142 S 11th St Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
There's a big sinkhole in the parking lane on the East side of the street. It's so far been stuffed with 5-gallon buckets and several orange cones. Seems rather hazardous.
  • Delaware River Trail just north of Wal-Mart, Philadelphia, PA - Pennsport-Whitman-Queen
Looks like a good amount of graffiti has already been cleaned off along the trail, but more tags have been plastered on the wood fence and the asphalt sidewalk around the gate behind walmart and for a few dozen yards north.
  • Reed And South Franklin Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
Same issue as "#64290 storm drain cover loose, constantly out of place" but it's way worse now. The storm drain cover is literally sitting on top of the giant hole in the ground, cocked at a 45 degree angle. The round cover has been removed from its casing entirely, and sits in the middle of the street. I'm no engineer, but I'm pretty sure this is not how it's supposed to work. I'm not sure why #64290 was closed and archived, because it was never really addressed. You can see the built-up layers of bad concrete work around the fixture. Can we get this fixed for real this time, instead of this shoddy patchwork?
  • 1401-1437 South St Philadelphia, PA 19146, USA - City Center West
There are the beginnings of a sink hole just before the turn lane splits on South St at Broad. At some point, the city did a terrible job of putting an iron slab over the hole, and it has moved out of place, doing no good.
  • 1340 S 10th St Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA - Passyunk Square
The makings of a sink hole are visible in the middle of this busy intersection at 10th, Reed, and Passyunk, close to Rita's. The asphalt falls away, revealing the road subsurface of brick and darkness. This will be a major problem sooner than later.
  • 1400-1436 S Franklin St Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA - Passyunk Square
Because folks apparently enjoy driving over the curb at the end of my block, the iron storm drain cover is always getting knocked out of place and falling into the inlet or onto the street. Someone keeps putting concrete over the seem, but the concrete always gives way to the SUV. Seems like there must be a better way to fix this for good.
