As has been submitted by multiple other reports in the area, recycling has not been picked up. The scheduled day is Monday, which hasn't occurred in years, but is usually picked up by Wednesday. Because of other cancellations, we have had recycling picked up a total of one time in 2024 to this point. With overflowing cans everywhere I can't imagine why the streets are littered with trash.

As has been the case with nearly everything to do with this townhome project, contractor did poor job of refilling excavation to connect water/sewer resulting sidewalk/street damage. Has made zero effort to restore property to original condition. Problem has been ongoing for over a year. I don't know how this passed PWE inspection.
  • No Trash Collection La Kaydiiyey

Truck backed halfway down the street and collected three cans but didn't bother with the four cans farther down the street???

Same townhome build by Covey Creek Builders referenced in Case# 101002628331 for gross negligence in restoring utility work.

Dumpster that was perpetually overflowing anyway was removed a few month ago. Debris has been here ever since. Trash and debris distribute throughout the neighborhood every time it rains or is windy. Entire job site is a mess with no work being done recently.

**3RD REPORT WITH NO PREVIOUS ACTION TAKEN** Holes dug on February 22, 2017 to connect to water main still remain after more than 3 1/2 months. Previously reported by myself and another only to be arbitrarily closed by COH with no action taken:

    https://seeclickfix.com/issues/3257765

    https://seeclickfix.com/issues/3300501

In addition to the inherent danger of six foot holes directly adjacent to the sidewalk and street, these holes have now significantly eroded over the past 3 1/2 months to the point that it is only a matter of time before the sidewalk collapses. The holes also retain water for weeks after rain creating large mosquito pools, not to mention the general nuisance of having these holes and piles of mud directly in front of my property.

The builder, Covey Creek Builders, blamed COH. The COH PWE inspector who I was finally able to speak with blamed the builder and said process should take only 2-3 days. Further attempts to get the builder/property owner to remedy the issue have gone ignored.

COH is just as culpable for allowing these builders to invade our neighborhoods, tear up streets and property, constantly spread trash throughout the area, and disrupt and inconvenience with total disregard for the community.

Litigation is being pursued against the builder, Covey Creek Builders, and the property owners. It may also include COH as a party as well for the willful, documented failure and disregard in performing their duties and responsibilities in overseeing these builders to ensure they maintain and adhere to safety standards and code and do not put the public at risk.

Three holes approximately 5-6ft. deep were dug over two weeks ago in order to connect new townhome construction across the street to the water main. In addition to being dangerous, the holes are now half filled with stagnant water posing a mosquito threat and are a significant hazard.
  • Sewer Gas La Kaydiiyey
1602 Holly Street Houston, Texas - Rice Military
COH did sewer line repair a few months ago and placed a PVC cleanout in middle of ROW. Cleanout cap has been damaged and sewer gas is escaping.

As is the case every year, Union Pacific refuses to maintain their property. Why does COH continue to allow UP to neglect their responsibility to the neighborhood and this community? It is not only unsightly, it is dangerous as it serves as cover for illegal activities, not to mention vermin and mosquitos.

Address stated is for reporting purposes and is adjacent to property that is in violation. Property ownership info as follows:
    UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY

COH did not provide heavy trash services which are scheduled for the first Wednesday of the month in this area. There are a number of other trash piles throughout the neighborhood.
  • 1601 Holly Street Houston, Texas - Rice Military
Trash not collected for entire block of Holly St. between Summer and Winter St.
  • 1601 Holly Street Houston, Texas - Rice Military
COH missed heavy trash services this month in this area. Multiple other locations in the neighborhood also have trash/debris. Heavy trash pick up is supposed to occur on the first Wednesday of the month.
  • MAJOR POTHOLE La Kaydiiyey
1613 Crockett St Houston, Texas - Rice Military

    2ND REQUEST!!!

What is the point of the 311 system if COH arbitrarily closes requests with no corrective action?? I witnessed a near head on collision today from someone trying to avoid the this major pothole.

Between the damaged roadway and townhome construction, Crockett Avenue is virtually impassable between Houston and Sawyer. That is unacceptable for a significant thoroughfare.

8TH REPORT WITHOUT RESOLUTION! COMPLETELY BLIND TO WESTBOUND TRAFFIC ON CROCKETT BECAUSE OF OVERGROWTH. COME ON COH! 18 MONTHS IS ENOUGH!!!
  • 1601 Holly Street Houston, Texas - Rice Military
Illegal dumping of furniture and TV's next to railroad tracks. NW corner of Winter/Holly. This is becoming a popular dump site most likely because the massive overgrowth by the tracks that Union Pacific refuses to maintain provides cover for all kinds of illegal activity.
