    The city has placed a NB speed indicator on 7th Street (placemark on map might not be exact) for motorists to alert them to how fast they are driving. Today at roughly 3pm, I observed the sign displaying various patterns, none of which could be described as numbers of any kind. Something in the device seems to be on the fritz.

    Tree branches totally obscuring Bicycle Share the Road Sign headed westbound on Liberty just before Seventh Street. Suggest alternate placement of sign if allowed, or dramatic pruning of tree to prevent this from being an annual maintenance issue. Or just cut down the tree. There I said it: Cut down the tree. I'll even say it again: Cut down the tree. Trees are overrated.

    Adjacent to lane on the shoulder of the road, a bicycle symbol with an arrow pointing directly ahead (see photo). The shoulder effectively ends about 10 yards after the arrow.

    What's more, the road-edge-to-narrow-shoulder interface is roughly a three inch vertical drop. It would be hazardous for a cyclist to hold their line along the shoulder or anywhere near the edge of the lane.

    I think the road marking should be eliminated, or the road infrastructure should be improved to match the road marking.

    Vegetation in water from the Barton Nature Area side has narrowed river to a relatively small channel. I thought there was a routine maintenance program for clearing this stuff out to make the river more navigable for rowers? Or is that just for the ponds?

    On Huron River Drive from Bird Road to M-14, vegetation on the west (or south) side of road (right-hand side headed into the City of Ann Arbor) intrudes into roadway such that a cyclist needs to ride two feet farther out into the lane than would otherwise be necessary (all other things being equal).

    This deer carcass is in the same general vicinity of one I reported a few weeks ago, but is different.

    This deer carcass is on the opposite side of the road from the river. From the N. Maple and Huron River Drive intersection, it's about 200 yards west. It's lying in the depression beside the road and might not be visible from the riverside lane.
