Is there anything that can be done to force this inconsiderate property owner to clean up this eye sore? If I remember correctly, he wanted the Council to allow him to rezone this land and jam pack it with 3 story townhomes When that was denied, I guess he did what an a-hole would do and has let the property deteriorate into this dilapidated building, fit for a @#$% apocalypse movie
Can the City force him to keep it up at least a little?

I know the property owner couldn't care less about keeping up his property But with the Farmer's Market hosted there, is there any way we can force them to clean it up? The unkempt planters and lots are starting to make this plaza look like Oakland.

Please consider painting the curb red on the east side of Grebe St next to this driveway (see photo for exact location)
Parents are driving their kids to Audubon, speeding down Grebe on a frequent basis Trying to exit this driveway onto Grebe, in either direction, is so dangerous Every day, a car is parked in that spot, right up to the edge of the driveway and it's impossible to see if a speeding car turned onto Grebe from Marlin and is going to T-bone me
Since there's no way to improve the poor driving of too many in this neighborhood, this action is a small step towards making it safe for all of us on the road

The metal panel covering a construction trench on E. Hillsdale Blvd is very high off the roadway and could be damaging to cars that drive over it too fast.
Please have the panel installed deeper into the roadway OR display a"BUMP" warning road sign so that I do not get rear-ended when I slow down to drive over the panel.

I would like to re-submit my original request.
    https://seeclickfix.com/web_portal/Qn9pBWvfNGgxcCmCCdpkHejg/issues/10022464

    Original request:
Can we please add more 25 MPH signs along Beach Park BLVD between Teal and Foster City BLVD? Drivers clearly don't see the few signs that are currently posted and drive 35-50 mph along this stretch For every 1 car I see complying with the lowered speed limit I see 10 ignoring it This is a safety hazard for drivers and bicyclists.
I would think that signage on the water side, attached to the wood walls, would be most effective There's no way drivers wouldn't see them there
Additionally, please have the trees trimmed around the 25 mph limit sign nearest Egret St.. Trees are almost completely covering it. And, heading towards FC Blvd on Beach Park Blvd, the 25 mph limit sign near Sanderling St. is blocked by the portable light unit. It would probably be best to move that lighting unit so the sign is visible.
    ------
This was the response I received when the case was closed:
Hello - thank you for reaching out to the City regarding the Levee Improvements Project.
We will pass along your observations and suggestions to the Levee Project’s construction manager for consideration.
    ----
    Reason for re-submitting:
Your action is folly. The Contractor has their money. Do you think they care about us enough to purchase 25 MPH speed limit signs and install them every mile?
They couldn't care less. Passing on this observation to them will surely accomplish nothing. It's been almost a month and I have not seen any action.
I do not understand why this doesn't fall under FCPW responsibilities. You are the ones who actually care about this City and its residents.

Please consider accommodating this request OR (somehow) force the Contractor to purchase/set these speed limit signs up.

p.s. I continue to see drivers going well over 40 mph on this stretch. It's a mix of the inconsiderate and ignorant and they must be shown the speed limit.

Again, the few jerk members of our community chose to be lazy and inconsiderate and dumped their junk on the sidewalk.
This time, there are TWO locations on the same property.
    1) Gull and Crane, on the sidewalk next to the Bay Vista Townhouse complex. (See image of the PRINTER). NOTE: another dumping was just reported in this same location last month.
    2) On Grebe Street, closest to Gull. Also on the sidewalk next to the Bay Vista Townhouse complex. (No image)

I'd like to strongly encourage FCPD to get involved. Nextdoor.com has a lot of reach. A lot of our residents are on there and read every post. IMO, if FCPD were to create a post pointing out how dumping/littering is illegal and would incur a fine, perhaps people would realize they are not allowed to do it. When our citizens post about not littering, it falls on deaf ears. Those of us who care echo their sentiment. And then there are those who don't who just ignore it. That's why I feel like if it were to come from the FCPD Account, it may catch more eyes.

Please help. I'm sure no one likes seeing someone's junk left out on the curb.
    Thank you

    Illegal dumping - again.

This spot has become a common dumping ground.
Would FCPD please create a post on Nextdoor to remind/command citizens to stop doing this and that it is illegal?
Other residents have created this reminders on ND in the past, but this continues to be a problem in multiple areas of the City.
If the Police Department were to post about this, it may carry more weight.

    Thank you

It’s barely been a month since BP Plaza received its City-subsidized face lift and the plaza is already filling with litter. Can the City do something about this? If the property owners don’t care and the litter stayed within the plaza, fine. But it’s windy in this area and all the trash ends up on Beach Park Blvd.
If the plaza owners weren’t so cheap and had custodial staff empty the trash cans more this wouldn’t be a problem. Yes, it’s also a problem with the patrons of the plaza- what kind of lowlife places trash on top of an already overflowing trash can? But there’s no way to police them. The logical solution is to empty the trash cans more frequently. Note: I saw 4 trash cans and every single one looked like this.

While there are many more pressing matters in our City, I notice two large pieces of drift wood on the beach, across the street from BP Plaza, both of which have large, rusted bolts exposed. With so many families getting outside during the shelter in place, these rusted bolts could be dangerous to young children.
Could these bolts be cut and ground down?

The allowance of cars parking right up to the edge of driveway entrance creates a higher risk for accidents coming in/out of this Grebe Street alleyway.
Suggestion: make 30 feet on each side of the driveway red- no parking- so that exiting cars can see in both directions for oncoming cars. (Every day a contractor truck parks right at the edge and there’s no way to see the speeding cars that turn onto Grebe from Marlin. This will benefit drivers heading northbound on Grebe, as they will have ample time to see/react to exiting cars.

Something needs to be done about the speeding along Beach Park Blvd. The speed limit is 35, but every day, I see drivers going well over 50 mph as if this is San Tomas Expressway. The street may be wide, but this is still a residential street, with drivers trying to pulling out of their driveways and residents trying to cross the street.
May we explore painting the speed limits on the road? That may be more visible to these speeders.

What can we do about Beach Park Plaza? It's a dump. It looks more like a strip mall in an abandoned part of Oakland or East SJ than Foster City.
The property owners collect their millions in rent each year and yet they are too greedy or cheap to pay for any upkeep.
I once complained about their trash cans overflowing. You alerted them and they SAID they would increase janitorial services to empty the trash more frequently than once a week (though I dispute that they were even emptying them that frequent at the time). That lasted about 2 weeks and then, mysteriously, the trash cans disappeared altogether. And now they have the gall to put up those pathetic signs (nailed up very poorly) that read "Put Trash In Its Place", which is ironic because there are 0 public trash cans in the plaza. So what do the patrons do? They throw their napkins, boba cups, coffee cups, etc. into the planters. This loose litter must be a haven for our neighborhood rodents.

If they cared even a little bit about our city or residents, they would pony up the money to:
    - restore the few trash cans around the plaza.
    - pay to have the parking lot repaved- I don't believe it's ever been and it really shows.
    - pay to have the trees and planter boxes maintained.
    - pay to have the planter boxes redone- these are the same ones that have been here for over 40 years and they are falling apart.
    - pay to have the facade and signage refreshed so this vibrant, popular plaza fits, visually, in the Beach Park neighborhood where housed are $1.5 million and up.

This plaza is visually offensive. Maybe the patrons who frequent couldn't care less, but many of us- those who I have spoken to in the immediate area- DO care and wish the owners weren't such cheapskates. There MUST be some City Ordinance that we can throw at them to force them to fix this place up.
