Sizable pothole in the eastbound lane
  • Chess Drive Foster City, California - Foster City
The construction that was performed on Chess Drive was not properly repaved and the thousands of cars that pass over this lane in the mornings has sunk, leading to a bad ditch in the road. This can be damaging to tires and wheels.
    Please fix!

Over flowing trash cans- I thought these cheap skates were going to empty their trash more frequently. They should probably have it done twice a day.
This may be on private property, but this affects our neighborhood as it attracts rats, raccoons, skunks, etc. It’s also clear that Kavai dumps their trash in these bins. I’ve seen them do it and it’s also evident by all the salon type trash in this particular can.

I don't know who is doing this- Residence Inn guests? Emerald Bay residents? I drive by this location every morning on my way to work and is always a handful of shopping carts at this location. Currently, I saw so many Safeway carts, that they were stacked into each other. Now that is an indication that Safeway customers DGAF about the law.
  • 1062 Edgewater Blvd Foster City, California - Foster City
Please examine the asphalt at this location on Edgewater Blvd. There is a tree in the median whose roots are pushing up the street, creating a dangerous bump in the road.

This spot has become a haven for abandoned shopping carts.
I just wanted to give a head's up that two are currently on the sidewalk, in front of this office complex.
  • 827 Comet Drive Foster City, California - Foster City
It appears these abandoned vehicle posts occur near apartment complexes. Certainly, some are aware of the 72-hour policy and choose to ignore it. But I'm willing to bet there are some who are unaware.
In the areas where these occur most, perhaps Public Works can explore installing street signs that explain the 72 hour rule, so that ALL residents are aware that parking longer than that will likely lead to parking tickets and/or towing at the owner's expense.

Dead raccoon in the middle of the road.
  • 1451 Beach Park Blvd Foster City 94404, United States - Foster City
Request for 35 MPH speed limit signs along Beach Park Blvd. Far too many drivers are speeding on BP doing 50+. With so many pedestrians accessing the levee or their cars parked on the levee side, it’s a dangerous situation.

Related to this post on Nextdoor.com (https://nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=88180808), Beach Park Plaza has an ongoing problem with overflowing trash cans and the subsequent litter it causes. The attached image exemplifies what condition these trash cans were in on a Saturday around noon. The property owners clearly don't care about cleanliness, the public's safety or worst of all, that this food-litter attracts rodents and other neighborhood critters.

If the city can fine homeowners for an unsightly front yard, there must be a city ordinance that holds commercial property owners to a similar standard.

And please don't visit this plaza on a single weekday, after the cleaning crew has been able to empty the trash. A hand full of visits at varying days/times are required to gather an appropriate sample size of this disregard.

This car has been marked for observation multiple times and the owners just move the car 20 feet. The car will then sit there for weeks, if not months. The car currently is covered in spiderwebs.

Property owner needs to cut weeds and reposition the temporary fence so it's not encroaching on the sidewalk.

Dead jackrabbit on the Bowditch front lawn. About 10 feet from the sidewalk.
  • 1022 Gull Avenue Foster City, California - Foster City

When vehicles park in the eastbound direction of Gull Ave., before and after Crane Ave., they obstruct the view of drivers exiting Crane in the northbound direction. I have been cut off when traveling east on Gull Ave. and I certainly don't blame these drivers as there are cars parked right up until the driveway. They are basically pulling into traffic blind.

A simple solution would be to make parking on the eastbound side of Gull Ave. 50-75 feet leading up to Crane Ave. not allowed. This would allow drivers enough sightlines to see oncoming traffic.

  • 1022 Gull Avenue Foster City, California - Foster City
When a car parks on the eastbound side of Gull Ave, before and after Crane Ave, it obstructs the view of cars exiting Bay Vista community and cars end up cutting off drivers on Gull Ave.
If the last 50-75 feet leading up to the Crane Ave driveway were red, it would allow drivers exiting Bay Vista enough space to see oncoming traffic.

New wood chips were added to the playground, but it appears the crew just dumped them out and didn't spread them across the play area (see picture; under and to the right of the structure) If they don't spread out the new chips, the worn out areas remain exposed. Please do the needful.
